Thanks, glad someone enjoyed it!Love the pun. Thank you for that.
On topic, the surcharge cap is necessary to keep the direct purchase method from making the wards obsolete. Like it or not, the population has never been in agreement over the AH topic, and this is the best middle-ground solution that could possibly be implemented. Did all the pro-AH people actually think they would get away without an upcharge for convenience?
Anyway, I also think this is a good middle ground especially after HQ sorting is added.
no it wasnt
an AH has no specific meaning, when they say AH it means that they will revamp the wards a ton til its close to what "most" people envision as an AH

Well, since the MW and AH are basically the same system (even more so now) there won't be a "True AH system" unless you're referring to a delivery system which was stated to be added by 2.0 as it may come before if they can work something out with the current infrastructure.
Again, I just don't agree with double taxation. One end or the other, fine. But on both ends is just annoying though at least the buying end is optional. Too much money being put in game by leves? Then reduce the gil that leves give. Just seems like a poor thought out band aid to save time. But whatever, just my opinion. I won't use if very often if at all. I will say I'm glad for a price history though.
This doesn't fix the problem about all of the gil brought in and currently in circulation prior to reduction in leve reward, all it does is make it so newer players won't be overflowing but previous players will continue to be as such -- This is why gil sinks are introduced.
So actually, a lot of thought went into it.
You aren't really being double taxed. You are being taxed once and then charged for delivery. You can avoid the delivery charge, you can't avoid a tax.Again, I just don't agree with double taxation. They did that already, I think they've adjusted leve rewards a few times already. It didn't really help that much since there are still a great deal of people with 10mil+. It helped keep things from getting worse but it didn't fix anything. Gil sinks are necessary and this one is honestly not even that bad.
I think what some people are frustrated about is the idea that this "Buy it now" is what was expected in the first place. Initially we were given this system of retainers and the wards that was not executed very well from the start. SE noticed the shortcomings and has been attempting to make the wards much more convenient for its' users.
Now with 1.20 we finally have exactly what everyone has pretty much wanted from day one, but they put a fee on it for convenience. It's kind of a slap in the face lol. Here's what you wanted but you're going to have to pay a little more for it. It's definitely not going to break the bank for anyone or cause anyone to rage quit but it's definitely a little bit of a sucker punch. It's not about the money, but more the principle of it. Just offering a little insight into the other side since many just have the "deal with it" mentality. But who knows, with 2.0 it can all change lol.

Just doing my part."There is too much Gil in the game"
"Nothing to buy I have XXX million Gil"
"Money in this game is worthless"
"Money is so easy to get, they practically give it away"
etc...
Implement 5,000 gil charge for repairs
Implement 5,000 gil charge for airship
Implement 5% (max 4,000) gil charge for instant market ward transactions
WHY YOU GIL SINK MY SHIP!#!)$
