Nice!!! So true, I think the idea is that people are thinking their money is going to go away fast, but here is the breakdown.

Buy an item for 100 gil - pay 105 gil.

Buy an item for 1000 gil pay 1050 gil.

Buy an item for 10,000 gil pay 10,500.

Buy an item for 100,000 gil pay 104,000... (Not 105,000)

Buy an item for 1,000,000 gil pay 1,004,000...

And so on and so forth... Up to a cap of 4000 gil max, this is small and since it's not forced, you have the option to choose.

But for cheaper items, you don't really even see the gil difference.
