Legacy Tattoo on all chars/transfer?

The tattoo is kinda cool and unique and its a shame if legacy players cant really use it, because some alt char got it trough different circumstances (like having to start on a non legacy server with friends after 2.0 launch)

I wanted to suggest, if it wouldnt be possible to give all characters on a legacy account the opportunity to have that tattoo, as every char is able to get the legacy chocobo for example.


If thats not possible for some reason, how about a "transfer your tattoo to a char that you want service", I wouldnt even mind if it costs like 20€..

Well, the 'Legacy mark' is not so much to identify you personally as a 'Legacy'/1.0 player in so much as to identify that particular character as having been transferred in from version 1.0 - the only requirement to get the tattoo is that character had to have been originally created in 1.0 and then imported into ARR - no other requirements are needed. It therefore doesn't really make sense for a new character to have such a mark that you've created in ARR, as they are literally a new adventurer, rather than an 'experienced' one.

Given it's now been nearly four years since ARR's launch, I doubt SE are going to change this either I'm sorry to say.

That is correct. If I remember rightly, it's covered lore-wise as being a mark of having being touched by Louisoux's (sp?) magics. Only individual characters were touched by it lore-wise, not whole accounts. So I don't see it changing as SE don't like to screw up and retcon their lore.

DISCLAIMER: I joined in 2.1 (or early 2.0) and never played 1.0 so was never eligible for the tattoo before I'm accused of trying to keep it for some elite club I'm in. I'm not in said club.

This would be something i would love to have, but i know it wont happen. My old Elezen has the legacy tattoo, but when 2.0 hit i decided i wanted a fresh start. So now my new main doesnt have it.

It would be nice if she could get it. But i think i can live without (But would still love it) xD

because of their 2.0 policies it wasnt possible to play with friends that started in 2.0. In order to do that you had to create a new char on a non legacy server (transfers werent available), which means that you HAD to give up on your legacy char, what shouldnt have happened. So a service to transfer atleast the tattoo would be kinda justified imo.

Sorry, but that's just not completely true. Yes we couldn't transfer off of legacy servers originally, but there was nothing at all to stop people creating characters on legacy servers (apart from the same temporary lockouts we have right now when the world is too full).

When your friends were joining the game you should have just told them to join your server (that's what I did and they did...).

I am among those with a character that has the legacy mark, but the main character that I use was newly created at the start of A Realm Reborn. There are times when I wish I had the mark. While the mark has a lore explanation behind it, what it actually represents goes beyond that. Being able to display its significance would be appreciated.

I think there exist more characters with the tattoo on a non-legacy account than on a legacy account.
It is a simple "this character was created before ARR" mark and not a "this player payed 3 month sub during 1.x" mark. Even if the player only played the first 2 weeks after 1.0 launch.

Think bigger... the legacy is left alone, but now you can buy a multitude of different tattoos you'll never see except when naked, in your choice of several different colors, for $5, each, per character! Please look forward to it!
