Entertaining the notion this isn't a troll thread, you might be able to expect stuff like that from a PC exclusive game with an enormous budget, but it's not. The amount of detail and realism they can put into it is very finite.

I have always dreamt of a mmo who would take into account all the realism about food.




After countless epic battles you and your group are at the final boss door.

You :
- Hum, guys ? I really have to take a crap right now. I really shouldn't have eaten 3 desserts at the inn.

The group :
- Wtf are you for real ?
- Talk about a mood killer.
- Man, please hurry, we have the world to save.

You :
- So errrrr i am gonna go to this room... Good thing we killed all the mobs in it.

A few minutes later :

You :
- Guuuuys ? I dont see anything in my inventory to wipe my a**, i forget to take the needed items back from my second retainer.

The group :
- OMG, please kick this guy !
- Well, i can give you some, but it is gonna cost you quite some gold XD

Meanwhile, in the boss room :

The boss :
- Wtf are the heroes doing ? My summoning of the ultimate huge apocalyptic meteor is now finished... Oh s**t, it looked like a good idea when i was only scheming it ! I dont want to diiiiiie !

Look at all the AAA games out there. A lot of them are photorealistic and have great immersion.

Now, I love FF14 but sometimes I feel like I'm not actually the character in another world... but that I'm actually playing a game. Given this is a role-playing game more can and should be done to improve the situation.

1. Why don't characters sweat? A long hike on Sohm Al should make any person, even the Warrior of Light, sweat profusely.

2. Why do enemies respawn in dungeons and raids? Once you clear it they should be gone.

3. Why are Lalafell tanks a thing...? This completely ruins any immersion anyone may have.

4. Why is food not essential? Why is the Warrior of Light able to survive days without food?

The list goes on and on but suffice to say my immersion is broken at every turn in this game.

Edit: Someone suggested bills as a feature. I agree. You should pay tax to the Sultana every month based on your income. So if you make 20m gil this month you need to pay 2m to the Sultana.

Pretty sure this is a troll post, but just for fun I'm going to play along.

1. Meh, who cares? If I cared about sweat, I wouldn't be playing a game where I can summon a miniature bird monster.

2. If you pay attention to the lore of the game and some of the Minstrel/Anima/WT quests, they strongly hint that you never actually go back to these dungeons, you are simply remembering the battles, and you remember it a little different every time, hence the reason every run is different.

3. Because that would be pretty stupid. Honestly, I don't think a Hyur or Roe is going to take a punch from Titan or Alexander any better than a Lalafell, soooooo.

4. It is essential if you wanna git gud.

5. The Sims is literally titled as a simulator, worst possible reference. A better reference would be Fallout's hardcore(right?) mode, which requires food and water while still saving the world.

6. Bills suck and the fact you mentioned them is basically the defining factor that this is a troll thread.
