Newbie Monk: Crit, det and ss

Hi monks everywhere long time lurker but first time poster. I have been training as a monk for the past few weeks and need some assistance with respect to the actual numbers in crit, det and ss. Right now i am sitting on 703 accuracy, 1367crit, 631 det and 588ss. What do you think guys? should i lower the crit and increase the det? if so by how much?

    Thanks, greatly appreciated

That looks like a really solid set. I'm not a main monk, but the stat weights are Acc to cap > WD > Str > Crit > Det > SS to my knowledge. SS and Det might be sort of close, but I think det prevails since SS doesn't influence Auto Attacks. I'm not sure what the BiS set for monk looks like, but yours looks pretty good stat wise.

I think you would likely benefit from upgrading the i255 and i250 pieces to i270, but with penta melds they might be close. You could check the stat weights and add them all up to see which has a higher total stat weight, or maybe a more veteran monk will pitch in.

    Heyo !

Your build is interesting But in term of pure stat weight, this build is the higher you can get :
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ZCD2 (but you need the relic...)

Otherwise, you can go for this one if you don't plan to get the relic :
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ZCFL (this is the one I'm using)

The main difference here between our builds is that I reach the next SS tier (wich is 625 if I remember well). You have more Crit wich is really nice in an opener, but in a 10min fight, I'm pretty sure you'll feel the lack of Strenght in the end.

SS is a bit underrated I would say... But it also depend on many more things compared to Det so it's kinda up to you
I did few tests with different builds and the one I'm using atm suits me well (I kinda like having more SS)

FYI (some crazy dudes doing awesome maths ^^) :

I like SS on my monk as well, but as far as stat weights go, Det wins since SS doesn't make auto attacks faster, which are ~15-20% of total dps.

Well, Det will affect all our skills but in a minor way. SS will affect our DoTs and make our global rotation faster.
For a simple test, go with a full Det build and just auto-attack a dummy. Then do the same with a build without much Det, you'll not see a great difference. SS and Det are kinda equal in the end.

I don't pretend to be right here, I just share my opinion along with my tiny experience

http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/10CEB this build as low high Crit and high Det/ss.... high crit and det are good for openers but Ss is a boost to your Gcd and DoT dmg (by a small amount) Demolish is your highest potency if i am correct. by high SS comes with a risk which is tp Management but you should really have a issues expect a9s
