I think I would doubt that considering the screensizes that are becoming affordable. The smallest I have is about 48", largest is 60" (all 4k). And out of my friends, I have modest sizes.

Doubt it all you like. This isn't the same discussion as it was when full HD replaced standard Def. The difference betweeh 1080p and 4K starts to get into the area where optically it's harder to tell the difference.

If you sit closer than normal viewing distance (which varies depending on screen size) you can see the difference, but you have to turn your head to see both sides of the screen. Optically, it's simple math to demonstrate that people with ordinary vision sitting an appropriate viewing distance from the screen cannot fully discern the full resolution of 4K screens. If you are closer, you can tell more, and large screens from close range make it easy, but you wouldn't view from that distance, so it's kind of a pointless comparison.

It is exactly how many studios have patched games Tomb Raider and even ESO. You have the option of better graphics with slightly lower framerate or higher framerate but not as good graphically.
I will be testing both out and decide, perhaps use the higher res mode when i want to take screenshots and stuff, haha
