My name is Krystal and I come from another game called Archeage. It's kind of a toxic game enviormentally but they have something thereI thought would go great here. They have a system by which you can post customizable images from both in game and real life into picture frames and display them in your housies. Other than this, Final Fantasy has way more decorations for players housies =)

So maybe it could be done here too, which would make each owned housie more personal to the owners... It was just a thought I shared in the Novice Network and they thought I should post the idea here and told me they loved it. I was reluctant to do so being that I am a new player and all, but they highly urged me to post it here so... here it is =)

Here's my issue with this, as I too played ArcheAge.
That opens up the flood gates to terrible images being posted. I ran into a few homes in AA that had child porn covering the inside.
I know the insides of homes are instanced so you couldn't see them unless you went inside, but I still feel like it's a terrible idea to even give people the opportunity to do it. Although I guess on the flip side, if someone is going to be stupid enough to do that and get banned, it'll open up more housing plots.

Thank you sweetie, this is a great game. true some people will try to take advantage of it in such disgusting ways, and they should be banned of course. But there are those like me who would love to personalize our housies more. I think if the housies are decorated and people report them and it's disgusing like you stated then yes they should be removed, but I thought maybe being more like home would make peole, like myself, feel more at ease there =)

This has been brought up before. Between Square having to police every single image AND store the images, it's just not going to happen. They aren't going to devote the manpower to oversee something like this. Don't let that discourage you from sharing further ideas.

I wouldn't say using real life pictures is a good idea..people cant be trusted to remain tactful.

But I see no harm in allowing us to use our ingame screenshots. Nothing worse then we could already see now could happen. there is no "motion" in a screenshot so how ...."clever" people are now, using certain emotes/motions would be pretty much irrelevant. We already can wear bathing suits which is exact same as "nude" in here so theres a limit already to the degree of disgust ppl can pull off. Nothing tbh would be offensive enough to warrant not implementing, no policing is required.

-in game screenshots are definitely a great idea and should be implemented.
-real life/personal screenshots sadly...no way lol

If literally every other game that allowed custom images before today taught us anything is that the moment you allow custom images in your game people are going to upload porn.

The housies are instanced with the ability to not allow people to come in unless you so desire them to. You as the user can set it to where only certain people can access your housie. Myself personally I keep mine to the closest of family and friends who know me etc. The allowing the personalization on this level would in fact encourage people like myself, my mom and much of my other family to atually get housies here and decorate them to our personal selves. We can't be the only ones who would actually like this. We do this on Archeage but there you can't keep other random players out... so here it's more secure. If anywhere I would think this would be the ideal enviorment to do such a thing =)

I have played Archeage almost 3 years now sweetie, I have yet to see this happen because the images are policed. I have seen more people have more funs personalizing their housies with their own family photos. My mom loves to put pictures of us and her up in her housie and I love spending time in it because of it. If the peopel are to put up certain ill images then they should be banned. They should be reportable as a TOS violation. =)

They are not going to hire additional GMs to police every image that every person uploads. It's just not feasible and it would clash with the game's aesthetics. The best we can hope for is them allowing us to put screenshots in portrait frames, even then that's a stretch. I would be happy with just lodestone snapshots of character's faces with selectable backgrounds.

If they can allow screenshots they can allow otehr things as well. They don't have to police themselves it would be a mere report option that players could report bad images. So in essence we the players would be the police. Since I'm use to more customization from my previous game Archeage. I have seen it at work and its one of the largest reasons I still play that game. As for in game screenshots.. that's not much better than what is current... which is a very generic customization or the housie like Swtor's housies or Lord of the Rings =\
