    Alchemy!

    Anyone else think potions and things could have a better influence in the game and that they should stop dropping thousands of these things like rain from the sky and let the crafting market do it's thing? Kinda irritating that an alchemist can't efficiently make these things and the market is over saturated with them thanks to Deep Dungeon.

    But the only thing Deep Dungeon saturates players with is HQ healing potions... Which weren't really mass-produced by Alchemists in the first place, and the potions dropping like candy in there are the only things that make healer-less runs possible.

    I find Alchemy is more for stat potions for raiding, cordials, housing stuff, and crafting components for every other crafting class anyway. Or have we all already forgotten how nearly everything needed Camphor or Grade 1 stat components at one point?

    Yea but the basis of alchemy is potion making, just feels wrong that they can't make any profit from what they are known for. Stat Potions are profit making though, just wish the HP and MP ones played a more significant and helpful roll in the rest of the game.

    IF they were too OP, why bring a healer? They are balanced fine for what they are. You have tons of other potions that make money.

    POTD drops regular potions and maybe hi-potions (I think), those aren't worth anything. I don't know about you, but I use my ALC to make HQ Max-Ethers which is a nice thing to have in Savage raids when in a bind. I also think some BLM rotations might use it for more Fire IVs in their opener, but don't quote me on that. I think it's fine the way it is.

    My only complaint with alchemy is that the max level healing and MP pot caps are far too low considering the investment in mats and the cooldown from using them. 2400 hp and 1700 mp from high quality versions are such tiny amounts.

    ^ This, this is what I mean really. It feels pointless except in Deep. I suppose Zomeki is right though, some Ether's are nice, just feels like the usefulness of potions and elixirs became diluted and the point to selling them became nil, everyone just dumps them on NPC's.

    Cost?

    A healer doesn't charge me 30k+ a run. Which I'd imagine the price point for a potion run to be if they were useful and not overabundant.

    I had an idea a while back that potions/ethers should just do a regen/refresh effect, being far more potent per potion than they currently are, but not strong enough on their own to keep a tank up through boss fights. This would help make them something players can keep up to take the burden off of the healer without being too OP. Oh, and the recast timer should be greatly reduced as well.
