I noticed, doing potd, that some people is able to immediately leave the instance as soon as the boss is dead, without the need to reach the exit, how is it possible?

Leave / abandon instance function.
You can leave through the DF menu. Same for other instances.
Open your Duty Finder (default key U) to see the in-duty menu. There's four options, the one at the top instantly leaves the dungeon you're in. Couple things to keep in mind though. Leaving a dungeon that's in progress and not complete ("complete" is defined as the last boss being dead) will immediately apply the 30 minute Duty Finder lockout penalty, regardless of how many times you've withdrawn from popped queues that day. Also, for Palace of the Dead specifically, leaving with this method functions as if you had walked to the natural exit in that it will drop you into that small intermediary chamber. All you're doing is saving yourself the short walk from the boss arena to the natural exit.
You can actually always leave stuff with no penalty as long as the party isn't full(4,8), or the final boss is dead.

You can also leave it after a specific amount of time. I think it was half the time of an actual duty. Example, duty takes 30 minutes (well the timer) you could leave after 16 minutes without taking the penalty. But they might have fixed that since it got abused a lot, however it was an option once at least lol.
Adding to this thread, once the dungeon is complete you can also leave through the entrance as well (handy if you died/respawn at the start). Just run into and it'll pop up asking if you want to leave.
