Why are GMs useless?

Why is it that GMs always send us to post here or talk to SE via email and then SE says to talk to GMs about pretty much every problem. It seems it's just a circle of avoidance of every issue. We'd be just as well off with no GMs at this point. Then you hear from GMs and they make you give them 1000 pieces of irrelevant info about your PC etc. Just so they can find an excuse to ignore your request...

Do GMs have any power whatsoever or are they just here to make it seem like player support exists? They wouldn't fixed bugged monsters, they wouldn't replace gil lost to bugs, they wouldn't replace items lost to bugs. What will they do besides stand in town and wave to people every few days?

I'm sorry but "we will investigate this" and then closing forum posts and never speaking of it again isn't helping anyone. If an issue is resolved say so, maybe then GMs wont seem as useless and be more transparent and accountable.

Yoshi is putting his team through thousands of hours of programming to fix this game all to have no support for the players. Thanks SE

I'm part of a FFXIV teamspeak and out of the 15 or so people in there the gm critics are all the same, bad. I had a very bad situation where south of camp horizon during a 20 mining lev there was a mining node I needed. The bomb inside scorpion keep which is ~80's would attack Though to the outside level 20ish area. I could not mine because of the monster glitched in the wall. Gm would not help, I called SE, nothing. There is a post on the glitch that has been here a while. Its ridiculous when free to play games have better GM's than SE has. SE needs to take action. The game is soon to be pay to play and bad gm support sure as heck is not going to help keep players.

It is true that GM support in this game is a joke. How about taking your players more seriously before they find some other MMO to play?

GMs are like t@ts on a nun. They are fun to look at but serve no real purpose.

I am experienced in this problem myself and it is without a doubt a horrible, just horrible joke. Apparently SE dont give a crap about helping anyone in game. When you email them they limit your problems so they can post you a prepared response and if anything will make people quit game this can be it. GMS like to sit their usless asses in town and say look at me, I am a GM. FFXI was just as bad. For example they made Battle Boobs change his name(which was a dumb ass move, which had I run this game that dude would be in Siberia roasting marshmellos) and he was so pissed he made a name so long people complained about and when he asked the usless GM if he could shorten it they refused. Another person lost all the items and gil from his retainer and GM did nothing.
