    [Discussion Post] The Old Coils and all them Drops

    Howdy Howdy Howdy, Blue Castle again.

    im bored and mass crafting Glam Prisms for my FC and i started thinking about coil

    my thought was what if they added Tier'ed trade in item for First, Second, and Final for Buying gear, weapons, and mats?

    Oh even a type of gardening flower seed that only drops in coil, can be grown
    and the flower can be given to the Housing district NPC in trade for items?

    i can see the pro's to something like this being added. but at the same time its not
    necessary.

    the content and items are old enough that they rarely hold much value anymore.

    but that's my thought. this post isn't a request post its just an idea post. please feel
    free to tell me what you think.

    What sort of gear would you buy with those tokens? The one from Coil? In that case: We're able to craft replicas of the Coil-gear (minus T13-weapons, because they wanted to keep those for the people who actually beat that encounter) already...
    ...using drops we're getting in Coil (aetherstones, allagan silk and leather aswell as that nugget)

    Currently we have the following drops from Coil:
    - gear (can be desynthised for mats)
    - mats
    - aetherstones (to craft replicas)
    - music scrolls (T5, T9, T12 and T13)
    - upgrade items for poetics gear (granted, might not be in high demand anymore...)
    - drops for housing items (those are random and used to craft a chair, table, two carpets, a ceiling lamp and a bahamut-statue)

    If you open those chests there are easly 8 items dropping. I'm not sure if we really need to add to that...?

    I love Coil but we just had a discussion about how this content is to "difficult" to faceroll while you're afking and watching netflix and how it needs to be nerfed again... and somehow after this discussion I'm more of the opinion to leave this content as it is. With Khloe everyone gets an incentive to do two turns each week. There is already a bunch of items that can be used to craft things and somehow I feel that that has to be enough at somepoint and that new content (just like new seeds etc.) should not be added to old raids but to new content instead.
    Coil has so many carrots already that its like rabbit heave - if that, along with the story and the actually well designed fights (if you do the whole thing syched or at least unsyched but not with a full party), isnt enough incentive to someone to run Coil again, it might be better if they dont.

    Maybe I'm just a bit "traumatized" after the last thread and for no good reason worried that people will cry for more nerfs when there are drops in Coil that they're intrested again...
    But yeah, let Coil be Coil by now, I'd say. Add new content to new content - we've got "tokens", mats, furniture, music from coil... That raid really has its fair share of drops.

    The only change I'd like to see is have the allagan silk and leather etc. drop from Second and Final Coil aswell, since they're only first Coil atm.

    Maybe a token system for the Coils would be good? Like what we have with the HW primals. Clearing coil synched or unsynched nets you one or two tokens that can be exchanged for gear or crafting mats that drop from there. Is that kinda what you mean?

    Considering what an enormous and frustrating headache it is to pull together legitimate farming groups for Coil, I'm all for any kind of system that makes it take less runs to acquire whatever it is you need from the place. It's ancient content, there's no reason it should require grinding.
