Because there are only 6 "Mages" in Final Fantasy. Yoshida said he wanted to use Classic Classes for Jobs

White Mage
Black Mage
Red Mage
Blue Mage
Green Mage
Time Mage

There are other Mage like Classes, but they are not "Mages" and none of them specialize in Debuffs.

did you read what i put. you even wrote what i put in your response to me. i don't think it will be redmage i think it will be timemage reason time mage is master of buffs and debuffs, redmage is a bit of everything and not just a buf/debuff specialist

I would go with what grandm is saying... chances are it will be arcanist in which case they can put in time mage first. I think they would need the fencer class in the game before they can go with red mage...

Correct and as grandm said... arcanist would have the job time mage while fencer would have the job red mage...
