    Rogue/Archer vs PUG

I am level 35 with my Archer and love the class. However, now that I went to my Archer Trainer he will not give me more quests unless I go PUG 15.

I am already Rogue 15 but that does not seem to make any difference. So is Archer a class that will be forced to go PUG at lvl 35 and no other?

So to be Archer give up on that class at lvl 35?
So now train Pugilist for really no proper reason as it leads to Bard which I hate
So my training as Rogue has been a waste of time?

    Puzzled!

You need level 30 Archer and level 15 Pugilist to unlock Bard.
However, since you stated that you dislike Bard, you may want to find a different job that you enjoy more.

With regards to classes, most groups will not be happy seeing a level 60 Archer in their group, even if you are a stellar archer. At level 30, it is expected of everyone to transfer from being a class into a job.
So, if Bard is not the job for you, then you should look for something that you think you would enjoy more (even though Bard is still an Archer, just with songs and a couple more abilities). I would urge you to at least give Bard a try, if you have never played it in a FFXIV setting.

Thx I will give it a try - some games the Bard is great (I dimly dimly remember Everquest) but the skilld did not look great in this one. My archer is 35, and I did enjoy the rogue as well. So I will give those a try.

For what it's worth, Bard in this game is more like Archer with some utility. You get some songs you can having playing (that use up your MP, which you don't use for anything else really) that help buff players damage or regen resources, and one status ailment remover/shield from future effects on a cooldown...but otherwise it's damage abilities and AoE.

That being said, at level 52 you get Wanderer's Minuet, which the job is built around at high levels now, and and that adds a 1.5 second cast time to your weaponskills. You still activate them every 2.5 seconds as per the global cooldown so that doesn't change, but it does impact how much you can move during a fight while also boosting your damage and giving you access to a couple additional useful skills.

If the mobility of Archer is something that you really enjoy, it does get reduced later on, so I'd recommend taking that into consideration.

Well, part of the reason why the game requires another class to be leveled to 15 is because you will then have access to some of their cross class skills when you equip your Job stone.

Bard's secondary and tertiary classes are PUG and LNC.

Pugilist at lvl12 will give you access to internal release giving you a crit chance buff every 60 seconds
Lancer at lvl22 will give you access to invigorate which is a TP restoration move. At lvl34 you get a 10% DMG increase buff which is nice too.

I believe Rogue is the only class currently that is not included as a subclass to any job.

Your Bard is going to play mostly like your Archer, with a some additional skills to change things up a bit. I don't play Bard/MCH so I can't give you specific pointers on those, but I do enjoy Rogue/NIN a lot too!

It has been said that the cross-cls-skill system will get reworked with SB so... I wouldn't go for to many of them yet, it could change dramasticly in 3 weeks. Like the other said Brd will become less mobile with 52 but will get the currently strongest burst-dmg over all DD cls. If you like your highspeed and flexibility you might focus on Rouge/Nin cause you definitely will keep that until the very end. Nin gameplay won't change that much compared to Archer->Brds ones.
