A Relic Reborn Quest - Prepare before Expansion

Hello,
my current relic anima is lvl 230 and to be honest, i find it very boring to farm and upgrade it - when i think in about 1 month we will have the new expansion.

So I want to ask your opinions, do you think if i keep ilvl 230 i'll be OK for the expansion, so i can continue the new relic reborn quest and get a new high level weapon / or i'll need have already my current upgraded from 230 to 270 ??

You will probably get ilvl 255 Gear from MSQ in Stormblood, same like in Heavensward.
So all gear below this ilvl is obsolet the moment you enter Stormblood.

If you find the anima boring and don't want to grind for it even after the nerf then I would suggest either getting the tomestone wpn and upgrading that or the alex wpn. And the next relic will be another grind fest so it may be better to focus on raid gear if you're not feeling the long grind process

Just to clarify - i find it boring grind the current anima at this period of time. Of course i'll upgrade and do the anima quest in stormblood.
I think that it's not worth spend 1 month now upgrade the anima, thats what i find boring.

but my question is this: would i be able to do the new stortmblood anima if i let my current anima be ilvl 230 or I wont be eligible to do it ?

You can continue the current relic quest chain throughout stormblood, we don't know what the new quest chain might look like, if it's the same than heavensward there shouldn't be any problems since the old relic line wasn't an requirement or mandatory to start the new one. However since there's no information right now, you might want to wait and take a look at the upcoming live letters, or start to "grind". The relic chain has been nerfed in the last couple of patches and while it wasn't bad to begin with, now it's even faster.

If it stays as prior and you could turn in your previous relic to shorten/skip a specific step during the new stormblood quest chain, you would not be qualify unless they make changes to these requirements. Prior you needed a fully finished zeta, so I am assuming you would need a fully finished ilvl275.

But if you're asking if you should just start a new relic after the expansions hit for the new jobs (rdm & sam), don't bother because there will be no addition being made, in simple words RDM and Sam won't get a relic weapon from the old, as well as current chain (HW).
