Character Creation Failure

More character customisation = require more processing from consoles&PC.





Take APB Reload on consoles as an example...the devs said the reason for poor performance is because of their character customisation and how much you can do to them.


Granted we'll never have that much freedom on 14, it's just an example of what could happen, people with PC/laptop that plays in medium would probably struggle and have to lower their settings even lower and i wouldn't imagine how it would be on ps4.

Hiiiiighly doubtful, considering FFXIV's customization options are barely better than WoW's. There are tons of MMOs out there with very detailed character creation that run perfectly fine.

I mean, I'm pretty happy with my characters appearance. Haven't had the urge to fantasia since i settled on this. Which is a big change, since its been 8 months now. New hairstyles are nice, but I'm happy where I'm at.

I'm very happy with Kos as well, I spent literally hours and hours on her appearance not including Aesthetician and glamours. But, there are some things I would love to be able to do with her that I can't. Such as give her the round eyes and fangs from Keepers, or use the same face she has from Seekers in the Keeper character creation. It's not even about adding tons of new options so much as it could be about allowing more flexibility in what we have...an of course letting highland males have their eyebrows back.

I am happy as Valkyrie_Lenneth from Balmung server as well, think ive been lucky, but i always love a hair change and mascara and all that little extras, hey we are girls right!? ;D

I am on the same boat too. I haven't changed Ren's appearance since I first started playing XIV (it's been 3 years).

As for the long hair crisis, it's gonna be a while for them to add more until they fix the clipping part. I am one of the few who don't approve the clipping which is why I hardly ever wear the long hairstyles that are currently available because of it (also because most of them don't look so great, I only like the one from PotD).

Honestly at this point of playing J'talhdi, I identify her as the main character of the story so much it would feel off to change her. Plus I like her. I used a fantasia once when I though about tweaking her appearance but ended up changing almost nothing.

The only thing I change on my character is her hairstyle and glamour as of way to show that time has somewhat passed since her last adventure lol. My sister -when she to used play- would urge me to change my character's race and I'm like, "After taking over 100 screenshots of her plus recorded multiple favorite scenes from the game...I don't think so." It would ruin my story lore XDD

Ooooh that's a first. I've never seen anyone throw a backhanded insult like that about character creation suggesting those who want it are prone to vanity. Well done you.
