Only one minute error Moose and hate to be that guy but the great flood was in the fifth astral era. Bahamut was the 6th calamity.

You're pretty far off the mark there. Bahamut was the Seventh Umbral Calamity, and ushered in the Seventh Umbral Era. Remember, Umbral, then Astral.
Prehistory -> 1st Umbral Era -> 1st Astral Era -> 2nd Umbral -> 2nd Astral -> 3U -> 3A -> 4U -> 4A -> 5U -> 5A -> 6U -> 6A -> 7U -> 7A

Yeah, the void ark can sometimes be seen in the distance from both the churning mists and the sea of clouds zones(ive never noticed it from azys lla, so no idea if you can see it from there). It isnt always there, and it kinda flies by slowly for awhile before going away.

Care to share where exactly so I know where to look out for? Just somewhere on the vicinity works ^^. I tried camping the redbill standard and the void ark raid gate.Yeah, the void ark can sometimes be seen in the distance from both the churning mists and the sea of clouds zones(ive never noticed it from azys lla, so no idea if you can see it from there). The vicinity of the Neverreap dungeon entrance works for sure, that's where I first witnessed it, and I've seen it again a few times there.

In the churning mists, go to the mining nodes north of mog home. Facing north out of the zone from the edge of the island there, you can sometimes see it low to the horizon drifting by. Easier to notice at night, as it has that eery glow to it. It isnt always there though, and i have no idea how often it passes. I noticed it a couple times while harvesting hardsilver sand to make nuggets while working on goldsmith.

In both cases it passes along the northern edge of the map. It always passes at the same time which I think is near dusk in the Sea of Clouds and at Night in the Churning Mists.

Okay thanks for all the replies! I'll go Void Ark hunting this weekend and hopefully I'll find some pretty good shots ^_^
Also slightly off topic is it possible to find Weeping City on the map like how the Aery shows up or is that not possible?

I tried looking over the mountains in Mor Dhona to see if maybe a spire was poking out, but I wasn't able to see it.
You can see the void ark from the sea of clouds as the sun is setting if you go to the far east edge of the map kinda looks like a floating black coffin with purplelights and oars coming out the sides like a Viking ship
