[New Player] Steam and additional retainers.

Hi everyone,
I'm a new player currently playing the free trial in Brynhildr as an Elezen (why are the elezens like giants here!?)

My questions lies within the Steam,
when I googled for FFXIV on Steam, I got a hit and all the way to Stormblood. Unfortunately when I open up the link, it redirects to Steam's homepage, in which I took the liberality to conclude that Square Enix and Steam do not have any collaborative means anymore. Which might make my plan to have two additional retainers upon purchasing the game a bit hindered, but well everything is hindered when I cant purchase through Steam hahahaha.
