    Okay, I wasn't aware of that regarding the Crysta. But for the rest of those complaining and can buy Crysta, use that instead of C&B then. Paypal is available for that. Still, throwing fits and tantrums won't get it fixed sooner than normal. It'll come in due time so just be patient. Yes I know it's easier to say than do and if I were in their shoes I probably would be pissed too. But as I said, it won't make them fix it any quicker.

    Hi from MALAYSIA, and during my registration there is no "MALAYSIA" in the country list, but our "NEIGHBOR" the "BRUNEI" is available, we(Me and several Malaysian FFXIV Communities) choose "BRUNEI" as our country since there didn't listed our country. But then we only see "CLICK & BUY" as an option, even until "TODAY", "THIS SECOND". Only CLICK AND BUY, that one thing but, another thing is that "CLICK & BUY" "DO NOT ACCEPT OUR CREDIT CARDS BECAUSE IS NOT LISTED INT SE's COUNTRY LIST" so therefore "ME AND SEVERAL PEOPLE CANNOT PAY USING OUR CREDIT CARDS ISSUED BY OUR COUNTRY'S BANK"

    SO EFFT UPPPP SE, We're LEAVING (with couple of 100-200++ msia ffxiv communities) ciao!

    no that's called if they can't possibly play the game then they won't be playing the game.

    it's called bad business to sell people a game that you are going to charge for that you have no method put into place for them to pay with. if they said sorry we don't have it now, but you will be able to come back next week that's one thing. they said we don't have it now and we don't know when it will be put in, but hang in here with us with no character or game to play until that undetermined day in the future.

    Dude, they have every right to be angry, and as I predicted, not having the service available on the 6th for people might possibly cost Square subscriptions.

    Square-Enix set a specific date a few months ago stating that billing would start on a certain day. Many people were alreadyhaving issues with the billing system over a year ago when XIV first launched and failed. They did absolutely nothing to address the numerous issues with the billing system - the same measures have been put in place, and worst off, the same restrictions are still in place for players who WANT TO SUPPORT SQUARE.

    It's completely unprofessional and poor business practice to set a date for billing and not have a billing system that works for a game that has an international community like ours. THAT is what they're angry about. It's not about not being able to play right now, it's the fact that something was promised and they failed to deliver the service in time, which has been the case for Square for their past two patches now. A lot of these issues were brought up ages ago and they only started taking time to address them 3 weeks ago. They should've been addressing the billing issues as soon as they announced that they were going to resume billing, or even worked on it earlier because they had over a year t orefine it.

    Now you got players like the player you're replying to wanting to quit because a service that was promised to them wasn't delivered in time. It's not silly at all and it's not just an isolated incident either. A lot of international players are getting shafted because Square in its infinite wisdom thought it would be a good idea to use these merchants instead of allowing players to directly charge to their credit card.

    So give them a break if they sound like they're whining. They want to support Square and they want to stick around - it's no longer the free period anymore. They have the right to be able to access the service at the promised time.

    To me, this is all about those regions that simply do NOT have the diversity of payment options and are thus limited to a single option from SE that gets blocked by their bank. I'm going to be straight out honest, far more brutally than I usually am, because Bay's post was more insight-bearing than it looks like on the surface.

    Bay, I do not intend for this to be directed at you personally, but feel free to collate and pass on as usual.

    This new billing option was originally promised to be ready to go by at least 6 weeks ago (mid-northern autumn). Not only that, work on it was evidently not even commenced until the FFXI playerbase went on a rampage of sorts with the need to move away from PlayOnline's billing system and the sting was felt in the FFXI revenue. This was despite the problems and issues being known since September 2010 when FFXIV launched and the first complaints emerged.

    To only now be approaching the quality testing stage further represents incredible naivity on part of Square Enix's accounts department - it tells me they have no proper appreciation for the structure and needs of international billing systems. This is further underscored by their promises to the FFXI community to "fix" the international transaction charges people have been finding on their bank statements - anyone who has done the smallest amount of international banking will be able to tell you such charges are completely unavoidable unless the receiving institution is in the same currency as the sending institution or if the bank itself absorbs the costs. So, barring countries where a billing option has resident operations (Click&Buy does not seem to operate in the USA), it means SE was either lying or just unknowledgeable. More likely the latter.

    Meanwhile, this lack of appreciation for the inherent problems in billing have given rise to a lack of a sense of urgency (quality fundamental to any sales pitch). It has left you, Bay (and other reps), sufficiently dry of positive information to prevent us brooding with this problem, which in turn further enhances it across the wider community thanks to social media. If there is one thing I can recommend to you Bay, it is to make it clear to your superiors that matters of billing raised by players can NEVER be taken lightly.

    I will return to play IF:
    - That new billing method is implemented.
    - That new billing method is not blocked by my bank.
    - I do not lose interest in the interim.

    My interest WILL diminish by the day, and significantly so when I lose access to the forums in a month's time if this is not resolved.
