Small rant about rudeness in game

Small rant, but I wont be too hard on the rant, however....

I often read or hear people talk about toxic players, are those who cares about a players damage, elitist bragging about clearing raids and the list goes on. We all seen those and I agree they do exist, however do they exist in the higher numbers, it's a daily thing we see? For me? Not really

Last week and before that, I've met so many players who simply doesn't give a damn about the others effort or even cares about the other players are actually players...

Example 1: They join a farm group, tend to die a lot, they loot the loot, let's say mount and leaves after saying thanks. They die every round at least 3 times, but ofc the group has to show they are willing to accept this, otherwise they are bunch of a-holes right?

Example 2: People who do roulettes who hit 1 button every 10-15 seconds or simply play like they using bot, totally unfair for others. This isn't about doing runs faster, this is about players who completely ignore others in the group. I simply dont mind a 40 min dungeon as people actually try to play.

Example 3: ''I pay the sub too so I have every right to join a group even tho I do wipe them all'' Seriously happened way too many times and it's getting on me.

Why can't people just respect others, instead of thinking this is totally okay? I'm not sure if anyone will agree with me at some point or ever, but this happens way too much and it's kinda weird nobody mention it. Maybe because it's a bad thing and makes you look bad? I'm all up for helping players out, but when they do it so bad, makes it looks like they do it on purpose, which I think it selfish.

I just use the vote kick function in most cases. Most players are pretty cool, or at the very least decent, but there's always going to be jerks ingame, much less online in general (these forums alone have plenty).

If you want a perfect experience every time, roll with groups of people you know you can trust to meet your standards. You know what you might be getting yourself into with PUGs, so you really don't have any place to complain when you opt-in and get a bad roll on the matchmaking roulette.

This isn't about perfection, so read my post again. People tend to play like it's totally fine to ignore the others, that type of player exist more than those ''elitist'' people speak off, just saying. In my own experience, however.

They exist, so what? There's no reason to come onto the forum and make yet another thread on the same subject to complain. It isn't productive, it serves no real purpose. Do what any well-adjusted adult does, and just move on to the next thing on your personal list of things to do for the day. If they're being legitimately malicious in their actions then kick them for it, but be careful that you don't just kick out of spite or something, as you can suffer GM backlash for that if the person you kick takes offense.

So what? Have it occured, like ever occured you, those people I talk about, trash talk a minor group of players in the game? It looks like some people think this attitude is completely fine. Oh well. I guess I will move on and ''complain'' my way out then .

Edit: Mod might as well close this thread. It's settled as people think the bad attitude towards others are fine, when I completely think it's not. Glad some think that this is wrong and not everyone. However feel free to close it mods.

It isn't fine, but nothing you, I, or anyone else says will change them. So why let it get to you, which just feeds their negativity and causes harm to your own mental state in the process? Rhetorical question, there's no reason to let it get to you. Learn how to let such things roll off your back, but do report the truly heinous ones as there is a point where it goes too far and just moving on isn't correct.

Where I disagree with you is on your definition of bad attitude. You seem to be calling 'low skill' an example of bad attitude.
I consider bad attitude to be people who try ti micro-manage how I play my character, my rotation etc... people who put down others in chat, swear, etc...

I don't see people who try things they are not up to the challenge of as bad attitude. I see it as people over-estimating what they can do.
I do see people who make extreme negative judgements or assumptions about the motives of those 'over-achiever' players... as being the ones with the actual bad attitude.

As someone else also noted in different words... if you want to avoid the risk of being grouped with people who are not as ready for something as they presumed they were, stick to pre-made groups.

I could be wrong, but I feel like anyone who can't be bothered to put any effort into playing the actual game is probably not hanging out on the forums. The people you're complaining about are very likely not the people who are complaining about elitists. There are players who will ruin your good time at every level of this game, though in my experience they're not that common. If I run into a player doing something that drives me nuts, I ask them to stop, and if they don't, I typically just leave. I'd rather do something else for half an hour than get aggravated about a video game.

One trend I've noticed recently is that (presumably new) players, often tanks, will not chat or even apparently read the chat. People in the party will notice that they're new and give them tips for the boss, which they utterly ignore. And like, that's fine, I don't need to have a super-optimal run to be happy, but when the tank eats a Lunar Cry twice in a row after we've told him several times how to avoid it (and presumably he can see everyone else, including the other new player, hiding), I kind of wonder why he's even playing the game. This isn't "striving to be the best" or improving or anything, this is literally understanding the gameplay at all.

I just play by the personal rule, "Don't be an ass." It's worked out so far, although I can't help but call out others when they're being selfish or obnoxious... gotta work on my caring level.

Although I do simply love the dude who yells at me for letting a buff drop off because I took two seconds in a roulette dungeon to fix my headset or adjust my chair. Leave the hyper-critical BS over in the endgame progression trial/raiding where it belongs.
