I mean really, we get cultural dances for the major cities through questlines and when the opportunity arises to introduce a far east dance from Doma - a region we will be visiting in Stormblood - does that too follow the pattern? No. Now it's straight to the cash shop.
That isn't how additional content updates work. Whether it be vanity items or full blown DLC, they are designed exclusively to be sold. It isn't, "Sleipnir would be a drop from Odin if it weren't for the cash shop!" but "Sleipnir wouldn't exist at all." What ends up on the cash shop are things they know will entice people to purchase them.

Neither you nor they have proof that those items wouldn't existed. Also in case of the mount it existed before the cash shop was ever mentioned (so poke poke I can see the holes in argument already). Also recoloured magitek, minfillia gear I am sure that people have more examples.

Also we can't know what these cash shops and exclusives take away from. They have said they are short employees or looking to increase staff. Do you people think that if the dev that make cash shop items would just not work? "Sorry Joe no cash shop item this month go collect unemployment." Unless I missed it they do not have a separate cash shop team.

Maybe someone could ask "Do you have a separate cash shop team?" They say YES come back here tell people to shut up those employees weren't the reason all caster gear is mostly retreads between the two. They say NO you know that they intentionally are removing man hours from game development. At this point it seems like most people feel its a, no. But maybe they are wrong. Or maybe the third answer is a company values profits over customers United=a certain developer.

To the pay to win argument. I never thought it was Pay to win, even with retainers making a million gil a week from quick ventures. But I recently watched a youtube video where they discuss pay to progress. The video comes down on the side helping progress is not pay to win. But they also discuss why it is pay to win. One of the points that stuck with me, is leveling a mountain that needs to be crossed.
