So why haven't you unsubbed yet, if there isn't anything to do?
Get out of here, lmao.
Just because stuff isn't there for you, doesn't mean there isn't stuff there for everyone else.

It is a "chinese server" emote, not a Doma emote. The chinese version have it already for a long time, long before 4.0
And why it is in the shop and not ingame? Because it was specially designed for china.

Omg this topic pops up like every day. There are several threads within the first few pages. Do we seriously need more text walls?
Because, as stated in my pervious post, Square Enix is under contract to make exclusive items for the Chinese and Korean games in order for the companies that allow the game to played in those countries to make money. SE has to go through a company for FFXIV to played there, and the company goes "alright, so what are you going to give us that will make people want to play your game?" The regional exlusives are an a incentive for the company hosting FFXIV to actually host the game. The only thing we don't know are the exact terms of these contracts, nor do we know how the money for these regional items are split between SE and the company hosting the game.

My gosh people are really hostile here. There's nothing really new about the idea of Cash Shops.
Every game has them and while yes, I agree more things should be in the game but there are some things I -will- buy from the station.
And I don't mind doing so. I'm still waiting to get the big Moogle!

Neither you nor they have proof that those items wouldn't existed. Also in case of the mount it existed before the cash shop was ever mentioned (so poke poke I can see the holes in argument already). Also recoloured magitek, minfillia gear I am sure that people have more examples. That isn't how additional content updates work. Whether it be vanity items or full blown DLC, they are designed exclusively to be sold. It isn't, "Sleipnir would be a drop from Odin if it weren't for the cash shop!" but "Sleipnir wouldn't exist at all." What ends up on the cash shop are things they know will entice people to purchase them.
Also we can't know what these cash shops and exclusives take away from. They have said they are short employees or looking to increase staff. Do you people think that if the dev that make cash shop items would just not work? "Sorry Joe no cash shop item this month go collect unemployment." Unless I missed it they do not have a separate cash shop team.
Maybe someone could ask "Do you have a separate cash shop team?" They say YES come back here tell people to shut up those employees weren't the reason all caster gear is mostly retreads between the two. They say NO you know that they intentionally are removing man hours from game development. At this point it seems like most people feel its a, no. But maybe they are wrong. Or maybe the third answer is a company values profits over customersUnited=a certain developer.
To the pay to win argument. I never thought it was Pay to win, even with retainers making a million gil a week from quick ventures. But I recently watched a youtube video where they discuss pay to progress. The video comes down on the side helping progress is not pay to win. But they also discuss why it is pay to win. One of the points that stuck with me, is leveling a mountain that needs to be crossed.

Almost every game has them now because instead of uniting to show developers that we don't want such thing, we argue between ourselves and pay for them anyway. My gosh people are really hostile here. There's nothing really new about the idea of Cash Shops.

I remember one day when they were asked why FFXI never had a cash shop and the answer was something like "the playerbase would never accept it". The European Ragnarok Online (euRO) also stopped on very basic items (that you could easily get better in game) because the playerbase wouldn't accept what other ROs were getting.
I don't understand what's with the modern video-game players that defend anti-consumer practices especially on a game that started without them like ours. It doesn't helps that the game really did get more content before cash shop... both extra events and actual playable content.
https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Category:Events
3 out of 5 extra events were added before the cash shop (Lightning, Shantotto and Dragon Quest).
In my opinion arguing in favor of cash shops is a disrespect to both the game and the developers, since you're basically saying that you'd rather pay than play the game's content to obtain your items.

If you like an item on the cash shop, buy it, if you are against items on the cash shop, don't support it. Just remember this any added profit to a game is good for us, because by showing something is profitable, they will continue to support it. I hate to be cynical in XI's case, but perhaps the reason why patches started to dry up, come out slower, and then take 3-4yrs to just finish 1 expansions story, was because it had no cash shop, that it wasn't as profitable as it use to be and they were getting away with the bare minimal. So as long as they see money rolling, they will keep supporting, but try to keep an open mind. If Stormblood is the same as HW in terms of experience, then I'll start to doubt how much the cash shop helps myself, but until we see the results of the 2nd expansion, we can't know just how effective/helpful the cash shop is for the game.

I dont mind having a cash shop, its all cosmetic, and the extra retainers is not game breaking. I like supporting not only the game but the company behind it so if I like something, I'll purchase it.
