New content added straight to Mog station? They are very few.
Mounts, NPC attires, minions and two emotes. The rest is mostly old event rewards. The regional items (Chines & Korean) should not be free for JP/NA/EU.

"BAAAAAARD!" - 2018
They offered the older items on vendors in the first year, at some point they realized they could actually charge people that couldn't wait for them and the rest is history. I saw requests for items that weren't on vendors, like the moonlit earring which was fine and I remember a thread complaining about it too.
I don't really have a problem with the seasonal stuff, other region stuff or things made exclusively for the cash shop, I just think stuff like Sleipnir (was already in game, even copies race of person who killed it last) is lame.

Please stop this.
Everyone knows that emotes gives you a permanent damage buff, and minions will add to damage as well. Not to mention the Manderville, how many times that have improved your evasion rate to 100% ? I'm amazed it still is obtainable in game!!! I had "mandervilled" my Titan EX because tired of follow mechanics and avoid aoe.
And, as last thing, what about all that clothing? +50% def buff each piece you use for glamour. Yes, cash shop is OP and gives you HUGE advantages against regular players. We must stop this insanity.
Apart the jokes, I also had read in forum about someone unhappy about the Easter event mount being noisy. WTF? You got a nice free mount and you still have to complain about it noisy if you 'shoot' with that? Oh, man...
That's not really an argument for charging for the dance. Why was it not introduced via quest from the get-go, hm?I usually only lurk in threads like this but I would like to point out: The Far Eastern Dance was a promotional item given to the Chinese players of the game. It was an exlusive item that the Devs made for that audience per the unknown details of the contract they have with the provider that allows the game to be accessed in that country. It went to the cash shop because the Chinese and Korean players had to pay for it, so we have to pay for it as well.
Plenty of people don't give a hoot what buffs their damage. There is far more to this game than just increasing your stats, and the phrase "glamour is the true endgame" should be enough evidence of that. Stop pretending that cosmetic content is not content.Everyone knows that emotes gives you a permanent damage buff, and minions will add to damage as well. That's what baffles me, so many people say they want the promotional items etc (that other people who were able to obtain them also cashed out for!) on Mogstation as it is a good platform for such things, but now the same Mogstation gets flamed for having a couple more dresses and emotes that can't be obtained in game. These few items you need money for.... And? You can still buy dyes on MB, you can still survive without the extra services like Fantasia, and you can most certainly participate in events so you won't have to buy the Chocobo barding a year after the event. What exactly is the problem? If you don't like it just ignore it.
Edit: And f* me but this is exactly the same as people complaining about aetherytes ruining their immersion. Don't use them then dammit, take an airship.
That isn't how additional content updates work. Whether it be vanity items or full blown DLC, they are designed exclusively to be sold. It isn't, "Sleipnir would be a drop from Odin if it weren't for the cash shop!" but "Sleipnir wouldn't exist at all." What ends up on the cash shop are things they know will entice people to purchase them.Actually, the Mogstation's prevalence is entirely in our control and pretending we have to bend over and let SE list whatever they please for sale on their is self-defeating.
I mean really, we get cultural dances for the major cities through questlines and when the opportunity arises to introduce a far east dance from Doma - a region we will be visiting in Stormblood - does that too follow the pattern? No. Now it's straight to the cash shop.
I dunno, last year's halloween event in Haukke Manor was pretty awesome.
To anyone arguing that having a subscription means there should not be a cash shop, do you want the subscription price to increase? Without a cash shop, Square Enix will be making less money. They'd defray that cost by either increasing subscription costs, or spending less money on the game. The cash shop is letting you save money by having people with no financial sense (e.g., me) pay your extra subscription costs for you. You're welcome. :P
Another 11 pages of this drivel.
I'll make it short: SE uses the cash shop to make extra offerings on the side, DLC. They are not the first subscription-based MMO to do so, and won't be the last. It is up to you as a customer to put your money where your mouth is. If you think this practice is immoral, show it by hitting SE where it counts: Your subscription. It sounds as though that's what the OP is doing, and bully for them.
Personally, I don't care about the Mogstation offerings. I don't need them, and I don't buy them. I don't believe that they reduce the quantity of glamour stuff we get in-game, by any degree - they are extra, on top of what we get in-game. As for the looming spectre of pay-to-win, I don't think we're there yet. If that ever changes, I, too, may leave the game. But I don't think it's likely to happen, and no, I don't consider retainers to be pay-to-win.
