Yep easier said then done, back end stuff is were it gets tricky. While this would be a nice feature, I suspect it might be a giant pain to implement. Queuing systems are incredibly complex on the backend. More to the point, though, we basically already have this feature: it's called "adventurer in need." Just queue as that, and generally that's the same role that would have gotten into a duty first anyway. (Admittedly that's only relevant for roulettes, but it's something! Also, just queue as a tank. That's the answer lol)
But again, doesn't that come down to "If FFXIV's back-end systems aren't well-optimized enough to deal with something that other MMOs have been doing for years, that's a problem with FFXIV that should be addressed"?
Like... why defend sub-optimal systems? Shouldn't players of FFXIV get at least roughly the same quality of life players of other mainstream MMOs have?
I did say it's a nice idea, yet you have to see some of the requirements. I'm pretty sure they have thought about it and are probably testing it. However, compare to other MMO's this MMO uses more resources than most, graphic, processing, and such. Ever wonder why it's recommended to use a 64bit system over a 32 bit system? they will support 32 bit system but yeah 64 would be ideal. Why it went from PS3 to PS4 format? yeah back end stuff. If your comparing MMO's, can you tell me of one that uses the same specs or higher that has implemented that system? I would like to find out how successful it's been and how often maintenance it's done. But again, doesn't that come down to "If FFXIV's back-end systems aren't well-optimized enough to deal with something that other MMOs have been doing for years, that's a problem with FFXIV that should be addressed"?

...Graphical requirements have nothing to do with queueing? And FFXIV being a resource hog is more proof of their systems being sub-optimal than being well-designed?I did say it's a nice idea, yet you have to see some of the requirements. I'm fully aware that queuing is a complex process behind the scenes. But if something that already exists in other places and would massively improve player quality of life is too complex for FFXIV's developers to implement... maybe it's time to get some new developers. :/
So no game you can mention?...Graphical requirements have nothing to do with queueing? And FFXIV being a resource hog is more proof of their systems being sub-optimal than being well-designed?

Less specs, WOW is not same specs and goes into maintenance constantly. and not asking for 64bit, asking if they have the multi job queue, nor Wildstar, Rift been a while wasn't an option back then. I'll check so far but yeah not really on par with FFXIV.

You do remember the fiasco last time they tried to fix ques? Also you can check the many discussions over on PvP about how the duty finder works. It is not the most optimal system. They also have a strong desire against change. Which leads one to believe that poor design from the start would cause them to redo.I'm fully aware that queuing is a complex process behind the scenes.
