Bard or Dragoon for endgame/any other melee dps?

    1. any other melee dps with huge weapons besides dragoon? i mean strictly dps or support dps NOT tanks. i don't care for ninja or monk.

    2. which of the 2 classes are HIGHLY wanted in endgame i read bards are but im afraid i level it up then i am not even needed or have a hard time finding a good group. don't want to waste my time with end game thus why i quit WoW to begin with my groups didn't pick up there weight and so it took forever just to clear raids.

i know you can be multiple jobs but i am looking for a main class to play and learn first before i level others unless they are mandatory just to unlock then i will be leveling the other classes

If having a "huge" weapon is what you want from a dps then I guess those are the two ^^

I've seen alot of these posts recently and ultimately I think just play what you preffer and don't let the meta decide what you enjoy. There's plenty of players who raid at endgame and clear because they are good and have a good team regardless of comp. Yeah it's not optimal but a good raid team will take a skilled non meta player over a meta one who doesn't pull thier weight. Imo player skill accounts for more than job choice.

With that all being said both drg and bard are desirable atm, but with SB on the horizon, new skills, an increase in level cap, new balancing and 2 new classes the meta is likely to change so whatever you choose now may all change within a few months anyway.

Dragoon and Bard are my two main jobs and both are a lot of fun for their own reasons. If you like them both, may I suggest picking the one you like more than the other and level that to max then switch. I went DRG then BRD and never looked back.

With the expansion, Samurai will join the "big weapon DPS" group too. As for bard and dragoon, both are currently popular in the raid scene. In addition to its general damage, dragoon has Battle Litany(party crit buff) and Disembowel(reduces enemies piercing resist) to provide utility and bonuses to the rest of the party. Several other classes use piercing damage and everyone likes critting, so many statics include a dragoon. As for bard, its the songs. Army's Paeon and Mage's Ballad(tp regen and mana regen respectively) both help groups recover from mistakes, and make it easier to clear content when its newer. Those two are amazing when needed, but not used otherwise as they reduce the bards damage. On the other hand, Foe's Requiem(reduce enemies magic resistance) and Warden's Paean(removes debuffs) dont hurt the bard to sing. A well timed Warden's can save a group/greatly help the healers. And basically all raid groups can benefit from Foe's(some melees have specific magical attacks, and healers and casters all obviously use magic).

Of course, the meta is subject to change with patches and updates.
