A person who wants a good to be exclusive or a bad to be inclusive is malicious. Full stop. What good or bad in particular that is only changes the degree, not the principle. Both things, exclusivity of goods and inclusivity of bads, are one and the same: You are wishing a lower utility unto others. If you do that for your own selfish benefit, you are greedy. If you do that for the heck of it, you are just plain an arse.

SE stated they would be available a certain way and be limited. Stop placing whatever garbage you are spewing on the players that bought those items and fulfilled their requirements as set by SE. Full stop.

Whether you in particular want a good or bad to be inclusive or exclusive is your own decision. But I can tell you that the reason companies bother to artificially make goods exclusive is because there are people who want it to be. Which are malicious people, as stated above.

Bull hockey. Don't give me that nonsense. SE made them exclusive just like every company does for pre-orders, just like they do for console single player games where nobody will ever see what you got. It is an enticement, if you give me money today, I'll give you something extra when the game is released. Single player offline only games do the same thing. Who are those people oppressing with their exclusive items?

You want to go all SJW? Fine, do it at SE and get them to stop adding exclusive things to merchandise prior to its announcement. After the fact is too late.

Oh? Thanks for the link I was going by the description quoted in an earlier post. I didn't know it was also available through the livestream. Ah well, 3 years is not exclusive, it's timed exclusive - and I hate timed exclusivity. Also, exclusive means exclusive, the Moogle attire should have remained exclusive.

I agree, I think the pricing is a bit stingey and very alt-unfriendly. Perfectly okay with these being on the shop but I'm not a fan of the character exclusivity.

What I don't understand is that you pay more for your account subscription to have alts, and you're buying Mogstation stuff with your SE account. I don't understand the rationale that says it's OK to limit items to one character of my account rather than making those items available to my entire account. It's not OK as far as I am concerned. If something happened to that character and the items were lost somehow, the player would be totally screwed for Mogstation items. They should be account wide, it makes more sense for any in-game persistent items, that I the account holder purchase, to be available on all the characters on my account just like all the pre-order and CE items - and the recently announced promotional DLC campaign are available account wide. I mean I understand consumable items being character specific, it makes some sense; although Fantasia was expensive and account wide, then it was made character specific - for the same price.

In my opinion, it's time to cry foul.

I don't care about being special in an MMO. If the FFX items are added to the cash shop 2 years from now (which will probably be the case) I wouldn't mind. I still got them 2 years before everyone else.

As a 1.0 player I'm glad they added a re-colored version of the Moogle Cap to the cash shop. I didn't pre-order A Real Reborn because I already had a copy of FFXIV from playing 1.0. The pre-order version looks better, but this one works better with certain glamours so it's all good.

Sure, plenty bought it for the statue, maybe even the overwhelming vast majority of people bought it for the statue. But if we're honest with ourselves, we both know that there are people out there that paid exactly $150 for an emote and got a "free" statue as a bonus.

I personally don't care about the moogle suit, but I do have to admit that this item should have not been added to the mog station. Even if it's 3 years later, it was a collectible (not to mix up with the word "exclusive", but still) for people that attended the fan fest to that time. We have already a lot of stuff on the mog station, and I could list at least another 9 pages of items we could be adding, but again I don't think that fan fest items or items that people have gotten from purchasing the stream in the past or upcoming, needed to be a part of that. Making it a single item purchase instead of having it added account wide doesn't make it more excusable in my personal opinion.

At least we do know that the moogle slippers will be soon on the mog station and all the other attire from other fan fests.

I find it strange they bothered to change the colour of the pom pom so the cash shop version is different from the pre-order version for the Moogle Cap but left the Moogle Attire the exact same as the fanfest version.
Perhaps the pre-order one was specifically said to be exclusive at some point while the fan fest outfit was only implied?

I'm still strongly on the side of the Moogle Attire should have had a pom color change similarity to the Moogle Cap receiving the pom change. Just like you pointed out it seems extremely odd until you go and read the fine print.
I am assuming it ultimately comes down to legal recourse of why certain items are updated to the Mog Station.

2014 Moogle Attire Statement:

*Does NOT specifically state "exclusive" other than a line leading many players to interpret meaning to be exclusive.

2014 ARR Pre-Order Bonus Items Statement:

*Stated "Limited" as well as many vendors (gamestop, bestbuy, amazon) used this as a sell point as Exclusive PreOrder bonuses.

2016 Fanfest Vegas Stream Statement:

*It specifically does state "exclusive" on the FF-X items- At least for the Minions. I guess the attire could be up in the air but it does use "items" being plural at the top may mean otherwise. I'd be curious to see if these reappear in 2 years since the fine print actually states "exclusive" this time around.


Going by the above's fine print technically I could see why the Moogle Attire was added, (I don't agree with this because of the way this item was talked up and hyped up again by staff during during the actual 2014 Fanfest event at the Rio).

I'm almost certain we saw the color change on the Moogle Cap specifically because there could be potential legal actions taken against 3rd party vendors who ultimately used the Caitsith Minion and the Moogle Cap as "exclusive" selling points for consumers to put in a preorder bonus with them. (Someone who bought the game could technically go back to the store that claimed these items were exclusive at the time and receive a refund for the game/preorder. Ultimately the Vendor would be at fault and could of course contact SE but would probably open a whole other can of worms to be dealt with legally.

It seemed like there was a quite a lot of requests at least on the NA side for the Moogle Cap item though regardless- I get it people start the game later want access to cute items. I'm sure their workaround was the pom reskin so those who received the Bonus Pre Early Limited items could keep their originality of the item.

Because of this, certain items that were advertised as such (or similar to the Moogle Cap / Caitsith Minion) which probably include any Game Collector item that stores advertise, (Behemoth Mount, Legacy Chocobo, Onion Helm, Garlean Goggles, Asuran Armbands) probably will only make their way into the Mog Station as a re skin- which I think for the most part people would be accepting of.

Who really knows though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this is my going theory at least.
