Alright so I figure I am late to the party but due to some stuff with an ex of mine i had to end up restarting the game long story anyways I just finished the part where moenbryda uses herself to take out the Ascian i remember from before we managed to get Y'shtola probably not spelling it right back from the Aether perhaps we could get her back or is she for lack of a better way to say it sort of evaporated/died.

While nothing will ever be impossible and Team XIV is guilty of a few awkward choices, I think it's safe to count Moenbryda as killed off for real. She got a farewell monologue and reduced herself to pure aether and had a (for all intents and purposes) funeral; people have said their official goodbyes.

By now, her soul has likely returned to the Lifestream and the uncountable pieces of what were once her will be reborn anew one day.

In Y'shtola's case, she used a spell to break down her corporeal and spiritual aether and enter the Lifestream for transport, while in Moenbryda's case she was already mortally wounded (which would soon result in the separation of the corporeal and spiritual aether and their independent return to the land and Lifestream, if current beliefs can be trusted), and then burned herself out completely to fuel the attack on Nabriales.

Yeah, lotta folks were put off when they introduced an interesting new Scion (and a Femroe, no less!) only to bump her off a patch later. In addition to losing a rather neat character, it gave an irritating sort of "status quo" kinda vibe, like the existing group of Scions was immutable. Thankfully, SE seems to have moved beyond that; not only does it look like Krile and Alisae are here for the long haul, but the existing roster has been shaken up a bit. Definitely improves a player's ability to worry and care for these characters!

All the Scions got a fair bit of development one way or another in HW.
