Forgot Registered E-mail and Security Question after 3 years of absent. NEED HELP!

This is not my case, it's my friend who need help.

He was once a long-time active member in my FC ever since the start of 2.0. He quitted around the time Final Coil of Bahamut raid was at its peak because of his work. Now he want to come back to Eorzea once again.

But the problem has occurred, he forgot his registered e-mail. He used that e-mail only for Final Fantasy XIV, but because of the span of 3 long years, he accidentally lose the e-mail address. The same went to his security question.

Could this case can be solved by any means? I tried searching in Google, but obtained no specific solution so far. HELP!

There's an obsurdly long security number that says "please do not lose this" that could fix it, but as I don't remember mine Im not sure that your friend would have it either.

There's honestly not much SE can do, as they have no way of proving the account is theirs, the best bet is to just keep trying to remember.

He needs to contact Square Enix who may be able to verify his identity from other methods (game code and address possibly). These forums aren't official support and are only for players to help other players so this isn't something anyone here can help with sorry!

If he remembers his character name and his square enix ID name, he can contact SE Support and they'll be able to help him.

My friend's contacted SEEQ Support Center.

He waited for his queue from 11 PM to 3 AM.
The result was, he couldn't recover his information (email and security question) because to do so, he needed registered email.....

So, he asked for help because he couldn't remember his registered email.
But SEEQ staff told him he needed THAT registered email in order to verify.

Good job, SEEQ support center staff.

And as for physical address, he forgot to write the address he found on internet.
He's from Thailand, and when registered, there's no 'Thailand' option in address section.
If using fake address is against the rule, every player in SEA region probably violates this rule.

If only you asked for his passport or ID card for verification instead...... *sigh*

That's not really fair, SE support is only doing their job. If we could pick and choose what security info we give, the system would be incredibly flawed and far more open to hackers. As far as SE is concerned, your friend does not have the appropriate information to verify themselves and should be assumed to not be the real account holder (and the information given already looks suspect). That is how the system is intended to work (not just for SE, but any service), and the burden is on your friend to remember/record their details, not SE support staff.

There are two solutions right now:

    - Your friend remembering the information needed

    - Make a new account. This option is not as bad as it sounds. I had a friend in raid who got his account banned over a PSN glitch, and they had to make a new account. In a month and some help, they were fit for midas raid again, let alone surpassing FCOB level.

Well he has already stated that the address used being fake, who knows if the screenshot of a passport or ID wouldn't have been googled as well. I can see why support refuses to help in that case because it's very strange that you would lose your email or the e-mail address you've registered with, but the moment you add that you googled an address I mean are you really surprised? I am not

They forced us, SEA players, to use fake address. When 3 years has passed, he forgot where it was, and now it's his fault?

    Perfect.

And for identification, since he's the real man himself, of cause he has everything to prove his identity (except his registered email and security question, which he intended to ask in the first place).
What surprise me is, they don't even ask for those.

It's like "Oh, you forgot them? Too bad. Ciao!".

Well, there's another way to prove he's the owner while bypassing the email requirement, but I can't guarantee anything.

Simply enough, he submits his proof of payment for said account. Good luck submitting that though because they can't open links or files during a chat support.

But yeah, telling SE he googled an address pretty much resumes to a Machinist deciding to shoot his leg in front of Alexander mid-fight. And it's kinda normal that they reacted this way because, like Lambdafish and LunaFaye stated, it would be easy to hack your way in or steal an account with the help of SE Support.

What does surprise me is that he never thought of registering his info anywhere for a service he pays in case it got lost. So, again, it pretty much comes down to his fault, but he can try the payment thing.

I can't get into my hacked account, because the hacker asked for a confirmation code if a call is ever placed in again. Somehow they were able to remove my security token when calling in to SE. They changed EVERYTHING. So when I called back in, I guess SE thought that I was the one trying to hack into my own account. They wouldn't even take my security token registration code as proof. Pretty fucking stupid. If anyone is on HYPERION, please report Star Snake.
