I think I may have royally screwed up.
I initially owned a hard copy of FFXIV and a Realm Reborn. I had registered a Square-Enix account have been playing for a while now. I decided it was about time I got the Heavensward expansion and thought I would do it through Steam for ease of installation. As I was purchasing the game I saw a message stating that Heavensward would only work if I had a copy of A Realm Reborn through steam. So I decided to purchase the Realm Reborn bundle and install a Realm Reborn through Steam as well.
After the installation had been done I attempted to log in only to receive and error message saying:
"Final Fantasy XIV has not yet been registered with this service account. To play the game, you must first complete the registration process using the registration code included with your purchase...."
. So I logged into the mog station and attempted to register the two new CD Keys. When I couldn't find out where to do so I created a new service account which and registered it with that account. Then when I logged in again I got the same error message.
"Final Fantasy XIV has not yet been registered with this service account. To play the game, you must first complete the registration process using the registration code included with your purchase...."
I have now requested a refund from Steam so I can re-purchase Heavensward through Square-Enix.
I then cancelled the new service account I made, and attempted to log in again. Now the error message I am receiving is saying:
"No valid service account is available to play Final Fantasy XIV..."
I was playing moments before purchasing Heavensward so I didn't think it would be my subscription status causing the problem. I have just attempted to renew my subscription and received an error saying:
"An error has occurred.
Please confirm the status of any relevant options and then try again. "
