{Dev Request} Cumulative First Time Bonus Tomestone Rewards

So I don't know if this has been suggested before but recently I've been thinking. When you go into x Duty and a message pops up saying someone is new and there will be, for sake of example, an additional 50 tomestones awarded for duty completion. Can we get this reward to stack for every new person in the duty? So in a 4 man duty for example if there is one new person the bonus is +50, for two new people +100, three new people +150, and so on. It just seems kind of strange that all those extra tomestones should go to waste so to speak. It would be even more incentive for people to go out of their way to help newbies and the extra tomes help everyone. Thoughts? Concerns? Cries of outrage? I'd like to see this become a thing but what does everyone else think?

In short, it would be a terrible idea.

Maybe there could be some sort of limiter on the bonus if this were to be put in game? Something like bonus tomestones received stack for each new player but total bonus tomestones received may not exceed the total duty reward itself? So for ARF for example the max you could ever get would be 300 tomestones total, 150 from the duty and 150 bonus.

Even if not I don't think increased bonuses on outdated tomes would be a huge issue but that's just mho.

    Why?
Stones arent used as a currency between players - so, unlike gil we dont have to worry to much about actual inflation.
Yes, there are things like materials you can buy with those tomes, but lets be honest: The thing that really, really eats them for breakfast is the relic...
Stones are also really easy to come by - 3 people with bonus would equal 150 tomes, thats one ARF-run, so about 15 minutes... it would still be just a bonus, nothing game breaking. (Besides: having three new people in a dungeon, who might not have the gear for a speedrun you could do with well geared guys, might make the run 5-10 minutes longer... so, its basically compensation for that ARF-run you didnt do during that time)

Since I personally dont know what to do with my tomes anymore though, this idea does nothing for me - I feel, however, that there should and could be another incentive to help new people. Maybe in form of a special achievment that counts how many new people finished the dungeon in your group - as in: if you finish a dungeon and two people have done and cleared it for the first time, that will earn you two points towards that achievment.

I think it's a great idea. The 2000 tome hard cap already curbs any "inflation" and more incentive to get vets to run older content is always a plus.

I wouldn't argue with the idea. Even with bonus some people still bail out the start of some runs but if they see the reward, may be more likely to stick it out.

Sounds like a good idea since its for "Old" tomes would help vets gear multi-sub classes faster (or the grind on u'r 1st Relic... or 4th, whichever) & as the bonus is givin to everyone it helps the "possible" barly geared newbee get better gear faster. Add that "hard" cap to the bonus (like OP idea or a slight variation) & it sounds great.

Sad part is in most cases ppl leaving dungeons at start an't probably gona stop, to some no "old" tome bonus is worth it, but it might lower the percentage by a bit... maybe, doubt it but still maybe

What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau

I've always wondered why this isn't already a thing. Especially when helping people clear considerably difficult content. Yes I know a lot of people help clear content for others, for fun. I, on the other hand, go mainly for the tome bonuses. I still use tomes on relics and such.

It always infuriated me to no end that tome bonuses didn't stack even a little ( example 100 bonus for the first new player's clear and then maybe 15-25 bonus for every other new player after that ).

The same goes for Khole Retry Points. I love a 40min-60min run of ARF with 3 new people for that 1 point and only 1 set of bonus tomes /sarcasim.

We're talking about tomes here that are already considered throw away, there is no weekly cap on them so I see no harm in this.

100% behind an idea like this OP

Ive been thinking of this so many times already.

Its quite obvious to me = the more bonus, the more work and time it will take,so why not adjust the amount of stones I get?

Saying that its causing inflation is actually not true....because that one run will take me longer most likely....If i desperately wanted more tomestones,i could also just keep speedrunning dungeons. It's not like
theres a weekly cap on it like there is with scriptures.

it's not really a bad idea, i agree with the others.

and the cap for the endgame tomes, when content is still relevant, is 450 (unless they change it for SB) so it's fixed. so having cumulative bonus (for the lower tomes or both lower and endgame tomes) wouldn't hurt much of the relevant gear progression and would also help newer players catchup in gear item level from the older/lower tomes so they can do the relevant content earlier = more players in endgame = faster filling pf's/rf/df/etc. and most people used to cap the 450 weekly top tomes fast anyway so it's not really a big deal
