wether its a barber shop type thing or something else.
there are some style for races i find would work better for the other races.

I agree. I've noticed hairstyles I would have rather picked of would love to have been able to pick. Giving us more freedom with our hair would be more than awesome IMO.
"Knights do it two-handed"
well they are revamping the character creation so this could be a possibility!
one other thing that would be nice to see revamped with the hairs is the dye system.i dont know if we cant choose how we want on our own then why not add some dye pattern styles. not everyone with the same hairstyle will have the same hair dye highlight styles.
i wonder what kind of options they could do tho?
would it be possible to have both factions eye colours. if not be able to choose seprate eye colours? you dont have to use the eye shapes from both factions for different colours.
is any of this possible for the devs to do?
I want better hair styles!
I want really long hair! And yeah barber shop please.
I wouldn't want a barber shop...
I'd prefer hair changing to be more of a UI thing and not an in-game thing. Like maybe a limit of one hair change per month, done through the website. Its just not appealing to me, being able to change hair like that with a barber shop and I don't think it would be consistent with other things in FFXIV. I like realism and being able to magically make hair grow is unrealistic, I'm not saying you should only be able to make hair shorter because that would too realistic and stupid but yeah.
Sure, more dyeing styles would be cool but I doubt it'll happen. Highlights alone are already a huge customization option that no other game of FFXIV's caliber has (that I know of, and I'm not including any game based on customization of characters, like Sims).
As for the eye color thing, its based on the lore, IE plainsfolk get grassier tones for hair so you can only pick grassier tones with a plainsfolk Lalafell. I don't think that will happen either.
But they do need more hair styles. 4 per race is just silly. For XI, a game made 10 years ago it was acceptable but for a game released in 2010, not so much.
Using all hairstyles for all races wouldn't really work. They can't just port one hairstyle over to another race and call it a day because there are reasons certain hairstyles are made the way they are on certain races. The most obvious example is Miqo'te. They do not have ears in the place where humans do (side of their head, in case you didn't know that..). If you used a human or elezen hairstyle on a Miqo'te, there would be this really awkward, almost appalling blank slab of flesh where the human ears should be (Almost every Hyur, Lalafell, Roegadyn and Elezen hairstyle shows the ear area, since... They HAVE ears there, while Miqo'te ears rest atop their heads). If you notice, every single miqote and mithra hairstyle from ff14 and 11 were made to cover this portion of the head completely, so that it wasn't so weird looking. Trust me, it wouldn't look pretty at all.
Adding new hairstyles for each race would be cool... But for obvious reasons you can't just port one over from another since they all have slight differences in anatomy such as the case above.
something i thought about is they would be able to.but would probly require to morph the hair to the model.tho i still dont understand the ear logic u made meow.elfs and taurus have close to the same ear shapses
from how im seeing it it looks like the ears on mithra are a top middle rather then top.looking at the taru's ears they appear at the bottom middle..so relly looks like it would just need some slight realigning or they could just alter the hairs them self.adding more is good but makeing current hairs availble to other races is better.
