Pets and Turrets in PvP

Maybe I've said this before, but if not:

Do NOT waste your time trying to kill a pet or turret in PvP.

Are you a WAR/MNK that needs to refresh your stacks? Fine. Refresh, then pick a real target.
Do you need to put up/keep up an attack buff (Hot Shot/Straight Shot/BotD)? Sure, go for it, then pick a real target.
Is it almost dead anyways? Fine, get rid of it, then pick a real target.

What's a real target? Perhaps the SMN/SCH/MCH that pet belongs to. If there's a pet/turret attacking you, there's an owner close enough to have it there. Attack THEM instead. We can resummon our pets/turrets faster than you can kill them. And you can bet we're already targeting you while you go to town on it. . .

Be smart. Do NOT waste your time trying to kill a pet/turret in PvP.

not sure ive ever personally seen anyone go super crazy attacking it besides the aforementioned people getting their stacks back, never figured this was even an issue.

all i ever attack them for is eazy abandon stacks on my warrior, but it still takes quite a few hits to get all 5 stacks back.

You'd be surprised, dunno how it is now but when I was grinding PvP for my Horse/Garo Set I'd see like 4/5 people all piled on an Egi or Turrent while the owner was just a few feet away pelting them. As I go in as healer, not much I can do either but make noise. xD

Turrets are worthless, killing a SCH fairy can hurt a bit though, depending on the situation. Usually people do not go nuts on mine and sustain is enough to keep her alive. Sometimes I swift cast resummon if I see brd dots on it because I know what that is for and can hurt bad if they are getting free procs, or i leeches her. I think I only seen a group kill her once and ofc I had swiftcast.

I am wondering though, do people try to kill SCH fairy as a smart tactic if im under attunement.

Turrets definitely aren't worthless, espcially if the MCH has Hypercharge available. Even so, I often have my turret summon off CD before people even drop it to half its HP.

I saw a PLD going full ham on a fairy right next to the SCH once. . . We still had chat then, so I literally stopped and said "please don't attack the fairy. Attack the SCH standing next to it, otherwise you're not getting anywhere"

I stunlock a hypercharged turret.
Killing a SCH faerie twice over can extremely gimp them and make them extremely easy to kill.
SMN pets... Eh. I leave them alone. Sometimes I stun one if the smn is retreating hoping they'll fall out if range or something but it never happens.

If Hypercharge is up, that MCH is probably trying to burst. I'd recommend stunlocking them instead.

Nothing. Just keep doing it that. OP mean just don't focus down a pet. Just refresh your stacks/spread dots and move on.
