Pet class (Pet user and Debuff)
Love pet classes, and we certainly ned a debuffer back, one in which debuffs work would be nice though.
1. Pet class if it's a summoner (because that's like a mage type too almost so we get two birds with one stone!)
2. If not summoner, then we really need that mage/debuff class.
I say you do SMN AND THF though, why settle for just one new class??
I want a Mimic or Blue Mage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its clear everyone wants a pet class moslty and a mage class second most.
that means Summoner (with the REAL avatars) is the best fit. Its a mage with pets. SE should do it!!!. That takes care of everyones issues mostly in this thread. SMN has debuffs and buffs and Strong attacks so its a really great fit for a class/job right now.

Nope, not at all actually. Played FFXI a little and quit because I didn't like it.
A lot of games tend to have a singular healer class though, occasionally with an additional support class that has healing capability. Most traditional RPGs have a Cleric, Priest or something of that nature (White Mage for FF). Guild Wars had Monk, Aion had Cleric (Chanter had healing capability but their main intended role was not healing), Phantasy Star Online/Universe had Forces (though they were healing and DD rolled into one). Most games I've seen don't have three or four classes that heal as their role, it's generally one, maybe two in some situations.
That sounds more like an additional support class with healing capability. The main role wouldn't be healing (defined as restoring health) but to support and back-up heal.Other games successfully managed (and we're not talking about just a couple) to create classes with the same role that play completely different from each other.
For example the healer role, I could simplify talking about a standard healer that cures through normal spells (very simple and straightforward), one that heals through damage mitigation (doesn't have a lot of healing spells, but has a lot of different "shields" he can apply to several targets at the same time) and one that heals through time (having several different HoTs in his arsenal).
There are many other versions as well, I could make you a more practical and real examples taken from released games if you want, but I'm sure you'll just trust my words.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see then. Lack of uniqueness or definition has been one of the major complaints here since this forum was created and it's just hard for me to see how they could make multiple Main Healer classes/jobs without them feeling too similar.
We absolutely do NOT need a second healer type with the limited amount of classes we have now. We need a Pet class, debuffer, and a duel wielder in that order (unless the pet class is good at debuffing)
Totally. The pets could have debilitating attacks on top of "power" attacks. Almost kinda like smn use to be in 11.
