Does running ffxiv normally push your mac into a kernal panic? I just started playing a few days ago and it's happened to mine a few times. I don't think it happened before the patch though. Just wondering if this is going to be a reoccurring thing.

Yes, for me it's been occurring ever since updating to Sierra, so that's around 6 months of random freezes and restarts. Wooo !

I know it may not help everyone, but the only thing that helped me was that I had Time Machine installed on an additional drive. I opened it up, grabbed the main file folders for FF14, had it move the old copies to the main drive and the issue was gone. It also preserved my settings, since I picked a Time Machine date where my settings were the same.

It happened to me again. I was luckily able to repeat the steps that worked before... locate "/Users/<Your User Account>/Library/Application Support/FINAL FANTASY XIV"

now delete that folder and restart your client.

I saved my config file beforehand and was able to restore so my hotbars layout returned.

I wish Square Enix would fix this. I wish they would develop a properly Mac client and get rid of this wrapper.

Greetings! I really need help. I received this error upon my apple crashing while playing and the game refuses to patch. I have read everyone's suggestions and tried a few of my own unsuccessfully. At this point I worry that I am doing more harm than good as I really don't know what I am doing. I don't know a lot about my mac-- I grew up on windows. I don't see FINAL FANTASY XIV under application support. I also didn't have an app cleaner or know what that does outside of basic assumptions-- I really want to get back to playing triple triad and collecting cards.
