A good first place to grab some gear (specially when you dont want to spend gil on it!) is your Grand Company - they offer gearsets for various levels!

Check the marketboard to see which is the best item you can currently equip with that character and if you dont want to buy it there, you can use this site to look up where to go to get the NQ-vendor-version.

Thank you for your help! I was thinking this was a PotD issue because the gear issue is something which would occur often with this particular duty.

But, based on your statement, I made an attempt to edit the title but could not figure out how to access it. Oh well. Just one of those days where the ol' brain cells aren't firing up.

Thank you for your help! I was thinking this was a PotD issue because the gearing problem came up because I was running the duty. I'll change the title to clarify what I asking.

Dont worry about being disrespectful when cutting quotes - its pretty common!
You can get around the character limit by editing your post afterwards, in case you didnt know btw

Leveling up by using FATEs or levequests will cause the same problem - aswell as running dungeons but not getting lucky with drops! But ofc its a problem that easly created by PotD aswell, you're right about that
