so a friend told me that only high allagan are allowed red eyes, and if your character has red eyes then they are from a high allagan bloodline.

is this true? i wanna make a au ra with red eyes but i also wanna be lore friendly

Princess Salina transferred the Allagan royal bloodline (and thus the power that it wielded over the Crystal Tower and the Cloud of Darkness) to a member of the Seeker of the Sun G tribe that history records only as "Desch". The "Royal Eye" or "Allagan Eye" has become a rare trait as the bloodlines have been spread thin, but once in a generation or so, you'll find one.

The Allagan Eye
This crimson hue to one's eye is a trait manifesting only in those possessed of royal blood. It was called the royal Eye in the Third Astral Era, but has become known as the Allagan Eye, as most who knew its true name perished in the calamitous events triggered by Xande's actions.

That word there ... only ... can be read two ways.

1. The Allagan Eye specifically only appears in those possessed of royal blood.
2. All red eyes ever do.

I'm a little hesitant to believe that for 5,000+ years every single person who had red eyes was of Allagan royal blood and that red eyes only appear once in a generation as of today ... yet SE allows it as a character creation option. They might as well put Garlean third eyes or Padjali horns in there.

There's nothing that says ONLY high allagan. You can make your eyes whatever color you want. I have red eyes on my au ra and no one has ever tried to bring up lore

Same. Although I headcannon it as there's *something* else about it that makes it unique, like a metallic shade or a pattern in the red.

Someone in Reddit (who got the most of the facial data for people to recreate NPCs) said that Doga and Unei's eyes were unique and not available in the CC.

So in a way, the "Royal Eye" truly is unique to them and we can't recreate that shade
