Why no Xbox?

I am not really complaining about this because the game is fine on my Mac, but why is FFXIV available on Playstation but not Xbox? Does SE have some contract with Sony or something?

You forgot M$ are GREEEEDY! xp They want you to have Xbox Live membership on. Wich PC dont have, and PS consoles dont need PS+ ether.

I believe it was because Microsoft doesnt understand the point of cross servers and wantes their own xbox only servers? Might need to research that, but that is always the reason i see when i look.

Yoshida said many times that he would love to see Xbox join the FFXIV reboot, but Microsoft does not want the Xbox players to play with PS and PC players.

The problem is with Sony hands now, I think they don't want cross-play with Xbox because they can lose some console exclusivity like FFXIV.

From a polygon article. Bur there are several all around. I think another regulation was playing online without xbox membership. Not positive though
