what do you mine for in particular?

There are some things that I mine for, more than others...

Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Alumen, Silver Ore, Mithril Ore*, as well as brown, grey and red pigments.
I've been starting to gather quantities of 99 each as much as possible, for my miner retainer to look after.

* - current high demand

At the moment, this is prior to MIN Lv34 that I'm currently on.

Whats it like on other server worlds?

Adamantite and darksteel mostly. If I do. When I craft half the time I'll not feel like gathering(I don't much like it) and just buy the materials instead.

Except fishing. Fishing is nice. I'm usually getting biomass and stuff doing that.

Before my gatheres get to 60... I gather whatever the leves require of me. Leveling while mining for actual items is so, so slow - and you're missing out on all the highlevel items that could be more useful.

Bomb ash, silver ore, iron ore more than anything else. If you're a crafter you probably know what those are for.

I mine for whatever I need whenever I need it. Markets way too volatile to try and meet demand - rather put up some finished products or processed materials

I'll hit up stuff on the legendary nodes depending on what the prices look like that day, but generally I don't think most everyday items are worth the time it takes to collect them and I mostly focus on generating income by buying and crafting or flipping.

I mine for HQ's of whatever I don't have on me (1 whole inventory page dedicated to some base craft items for 3 craft classes) that isn't at 99HQ, which is Iron/mythril/Cobalt/Darksteel/cloud mica/Titanium/Mythrite sand/Bomb ash at the moment all NQ's get sold when I gather back up to a lv I can accept (Do have some Botanist-gathered items as well for Weaver stuff, Flax/Fleece/rainbow cotton/Ramie)

Aurum Regis sand, gold ore, abalathian spring water, hardsilver sand, cloud mica and raw chrysolite. I'm very specific in my crafter red scrip weeklies.

Large quantities of Silver Ore and Alumen for the glamour prism items, as I'm sort of a go to for several people who can't make the glamour prisms or don't keep the materials on hand. I don't go through a stack of pigment nearly as fast so I wouldn't call it common.
