PS4 - New Player here( Need friends)

    Hello,
I just stared playing this yesterday on ps4,started pugilist and will be going rogue>ninja. i am from UAE, i have some questions about the game.

-I am level 10 now, following story quests mainly. Is it worth completing side quest now?

    - Since i am level 10 i also did FATE when it occured, Is there anyother way to level up faster?

I have tons of questions, anyone on facebook can send me friend req so i can ask about this game?

Side quests: Up to you. Many players save them for when they level up a 2nd or 3rd class, since the main story goes a long way to getting you to max level on its own. But if you see one with a reward you want(or you just want to learn more lore about the game) feel free to do any and all of them.

Other ways to level: Youre still very early in the game(obviously, as youve been playing for a day) but youll open up many leveling options as you go. Fates youve already discovered, and ditto side quests. You can do your hunting log. There are plenty of dungeons you can do(the main story will bring you to the first one around level 15 - when you get there do the hall of the novice training for some good gear including a ring that gives bonus exp). You can fight in the Palace of the Dead(unlock quest is level 18). You can do levequests. You can run guildhests(the first should be available to you now if you do the unlock). And im sure im forgetting some others too.

Just make sure to do any quest that has a blue plus sign by the icon. That means the quest unlocks content of some kind. Most of them are dungeons, but a few unlock features such as dyeing your gear, using your chocobo in battle, and using an item to make your gear have the looks of another piece of gear.

Thanks for replying, so from your point, you say that sidequest are better to to be kept because it can be used for rogue or ninja?

    - i am doing the hunting log, and on level 15 i am going to get a quest call hall of the novice training. at that i can get a ring which gives bonus exp?
    - Lastly you said guildhest? what are those , is it like FATE?

Firstly, yes to what Cynic said. In my mind i consider unlock quests separate from sidequests, as i want all my options open to me.

For the best exp, do the quest at level. So if your pugilist is level 10 and you find a level 5 sidequest, you can save that quest for some other class you get to level 5(be it rogue, or something you decide to play with later like potentially gladiator). Thats what i was referring to, as(like i said) the main exp arteries in the game will get your first class most/all the exp you need to level up.

So around level 15 in the main story questline, youll get sent to visit the other 2 cities that you didnt start in(this unlocks airship travel). At a certain point while this is happening, the people from one of the cities will ask you to clear out a nearby dungeon, Sastasha Seagrot. Across the valley from the entrance to the dungeon is where the Hall of the Novice is located, and before you do the dungeon the people will suggest you go there(though it isnt required). They give you a short series of instanced training sessions which result in armor pieces you can use. Then the final training kinda combines all these lessons together, and that one gives the ring. You can use that ring on every class you level up, so dont throw it out when your rogue is done with it. The training is different depending on what role your class plays, so you can go back with other classes to potentially learn more things.

And guildhests. So go do a levequest now if you havent already. Once you finish one, the battlewarden should offer to unlock guildhests for you. These are short group missions(usually just a couple mins) that sort of teach some of the basics of grouping in this game. Once the feature is unlocked, you get more of them to choose from by leveling up and by completing the ones already offered(there are a couple to do every 5 levels). You get exp for finishing, you get bonus exp for finishing for the first time with any class(so each class can get each of these bonuses once), and you get bonus exp if one of the other people doing it with you is doing it for their first time. Once you complete 2 of them, the duty finder will have an option for a Guildhest Roulette, where you randomly get dropped into any of them you have completed. Once per day this roulette also offers bonus exp for doing it. Later on youll unlock several other roulettes(dungeons at various levels, trials, pvp), and the daily bonuses for doing them can be a nice quick boost(the leveling roulette in particular is good for about a level per day of bonus exp - you open that one once you complete your 2nd dungeon).

Is a guildhest like a fate? They are similar in that you can do them as often as you want and they offer some exp for completing them. You decide when and which hest to clear, while fates spawn randomly on the world map whether anyone wants to do them or not. They are a leveling tool though, so its good to know your options.

You can also do the same novice training by talking to the Smith NPC at the Adventurer's guild of any of the starting cities.

For some players this can be a better place for it, since the unlock requirement is simply reaching level 15, whereas players starting in either Ul'dah or Gridania have to reach that Envoy quest that unlocks airship travel before they can get to the Hall itself. That early in the game, a lot of players are leveling a bit ahead of where they're at in the Main Scenario, so can reach 15 while still a ways away from reaching that quest. If so, the Smith gives an earlier opportunity to get some really good gear, and some training on the basics of your class's role in group play.

Since everyone gave you the tips I do for myself, I would tell you to buy foods. Specially cheap ones like Orange juice. Consume 1 at the beginning of the dungeon. Any food give a bit of exp bonus.

Not sure what you meant by that, so ill offer a couple answers. Doing your level 10 class quest unlocks the armory system, which is the games way of letting you switch classes and jobs. So if you havent yet, go back to the pugilist guild and get that done ASAP. If you mean unlocking your job stone, thats a little different. To upgrade from your class(pugilist) to a job(ninja) you need to do a few things. First, you need to level the base class for said job to level 30(for ninja the base class is rogue), and complete all the class quests(theres one every 5 levels). You also need to level a side class up to level 15(for ninja this is pugilist - youre already basically there). You need to progress the main storyline a certain distance(for most classes this is a quest called sylph-management around level 22 - you likely will have this done before you get to level 30). Then you need to go back to your guild(the rogue guild for ninja), and an npc there will offer you the quest to open up your job. So if thats what you refer to, you can just keep playing until you get sent by the storyline to Limsa(with your level 10 pugilist quest already done, naturally). Once there find the hidden rogue guild, and become a member. This will unlock rogue for you at level 1. Do some quick side-leveling to catch up to your pugilist level(you can take Niwashi's advice to already have the bonus exp ring to make this catch up session go by in no time), then continue with the storyline as a rogue. And when you get to the right point, youll naturally be able to progress straight into proper ninja training.

Or... were you asking something else?
