Warning about handing out wedding invites

Just thought I would post to warn about what happened to us, after planning our wedding, the invites we had left we thought we would shout out to see if anyone wanted to attend and get the minion if they needed it, well that was a really bad idea, we got totally trolled, the ceremony was completely wrecked with nasty shouts etc, just wanted to post a warning about what happened, hopefully save some other couples day from getting spoiled just be careful who you hand them out to

Iirc they said there was going to be some changes to the wedding system in the future[1], perhaps they should add a bouncer feature lol. Be able to kick people from the event. I was actually invited to a random wedding, got the minions and stuff so I was pretty happy lol, was really cool to watch but funny too because I didn't know what to do so. . . random nervous onset ;3. just bought some town clothes and brought some fireworks/realm reborn for the end XD.

Sorry you had that experience ;/. Results would vary drastically depending on what happened but if you believe it was actually trolling (harassment) that is something you can consider reporting, they may do it again to someone else's wedding~

are you not bothered at all that people are so crappy sometimes that they do stuff like this, when OP was just trying to be nice and get people a free minion if they wanted?

Not bothered, too used to it. It's an online game, it's expected. Are you saying you would honestly expect random people to join a wedding and not mess about? Hell, being invited randomly to a wedding of someone you don't know kinda says "We aren't taking this wedding seriously anyway"

I get the impression you believe online gaming is populated by upstanding people who are kind, nice and excuse themselves when they flatulate. Suffice to say, that is not the case. This may be a sweeping statement, but in general there are various degrees of asshattery, hidden in every corner of the realm. If the internet is any measure, a large percentage of players enjoy having fun at the expense of others - especially strangers - who, by and large, are too gullible. Would you invite random people to your wedding in real life? Some people get their kicks off the misfortune of others and are doubly emboldened by a measure of anonymity.

Is it fair? No. Let this be a lesson learned...

If you requested they stop and they did not, report them for harassment. Those looking to invite random people may want to make a macro to whisper them ahead of time something along the lines of "by accepting this invitation you agree to..." followed by your expectations of their behavior during the ceremony and maybe make note of the time it was handed to them.

This is why I only gave wedding invites to people who have put up with.....I mean, been my friends for a long time, as well as giving them a few extras to give to their friends that they could trust.

I mean after it was over, we got really REALLY weird.

But still, when you give them to people that you've never once interacted with, you're just testing if the fuse will actually blow or not and won't see it until it's too late to do anything about it.

Kind of thought that would be well known after them having the marriage stuff for a few years in game.

Honestly just a case of people ruining it for the rest of us. A lot of people have had success in sending random invites for weddings (the ones I have attended anyway) and they were fine, acted properly and respected what it was about. So, I don't feel it is too much to expect people to have a little common decency. Still, sorry to hear you had to deal with that.
