I will gladly accept concepts from other games. If the lich king showed up i would get pissed. Thats the difference.
That's the funny thing I noticed about this fanbase on the NA side anywayI love how some of this community in general is quick to welcome anything and everything from WoW, but mention FFXI and its pitch fork time. All I see is a lot of people who played FFXI and couldn't really get gear or do content complaining, so they don't want to see anything from FFXI.
World of Warcraft players: mostly likely fans of the warcraft series
TESO players: fans of the single player elder scrolls series
Final Fantasy XI: fans of Final Fantasy games prior
Phantasy Star: fans of the games and Sega properties in general
Final Fantasy XIV players: UGHHH FINAL FANTASY REFERENCES?, STOP PUTTING FINAL FANTASY STUFF IN AN OBVIOUS FAN SERVICE GAME
XIV players, you're hard to love, but you're harder to hate, never change.
Would rather that than 2 FFXIII sequels nobody asked for.
Fixed that for you. That's the funny thing I noticed about this fanbase on the NA side anyway
World of Warcraft players: mostly likely fans of the warcraft series (or jumped on the popular MMO bandwagon)
TESO players: fans of the single player elder scrolls series
Final Fantasy XI: fans of Final Fantasy games prior
Phantasy Star: fans of the games and Sega properties in general
Final Fantasy XIV players: probably fans of Final Fantasy games prior
I don't think the majority completely hates XI references, but OP's suggestion sounds like something that'd take a lot of development resources. To me, it sounds like they basically want SE to copy a big amount of the bosses, and areas from nearly every XI addon/expansion, and drop it right into XIV. Not to mention all those XI glamour sets that'd have to be modeled and updated to be worn by XIV characters. Oh, and a system that allows the player to swap between characters (or maybe the OP simply means jobs? Even though that's impossible to do mid-combat, currently), as well as everything being balanced for 3 group sizes (8, 16 and 24).
This sounds like quite the effort just to honor another game in the series.
I call it how I see it and I see a lot of salt from FFXIV players when they find out something is taken from something else.
You didn't fix anything and there's a reason why I said "most likely" under WoW in those brackets you basically tunnel visioned and wrote what I just said.
