Rereading the job description it might be that the black and white mages in are much closer to the more restricted forms used in thermatolgy and conjurey rather than the true black and white magics used by Mhach and Amadpour. If not I don't see how any group with access to the full horrors of both Mhach and Adampour would have craved out a new empire....

To be fair, I don't think there was ever any doubt that survivors of Amdapor and Mhach would've been responsible for Red Magic and the Red Mage job.

But you have to admit the old theory that floated around for a while had merit. Dissidents/Survivors of the War of the Magi left Eorzea to escape the Witch Hunts and founded Sharlayan, pooling their arts to create Red Magic, and training Red Mages to protect their new haven. Having learned from the past, they dedicated the pursuits of their nation to learning and chronicling history.

What we have now follows the start of that theory, but instead of doing the logical thing and fleeing the witch hunts, as well as learning from history, it seems some remnants of Mhach and Amdapor just decided to tough it out instead, and go down the same path.

If one of the things I learned from anime it is that the Pipe Lady is most likely a ally NPC who serves as the "Black Market/Information seller" NPC in the storyline that may provide us some illegal assets and particular "Rumors" that goes around Othard for the right price.

Well they can still pull Sharlayan being established by Amdapor and Mhach survivors and have some Red Mage knowledge for later Red mage Job skills and storyline but just not the lore being the founder of Red Mage.

It mentioned Red Mage was established right after the Great Flood but when Sharlayan is establish still remains unknown.

Due to how scattered the small amount of survivors were there is also the possibility there was a separate group of survivors that established Sharlayan and maybe establish communication with the Red Mage order sometime after thus having some Red Mage in Sharlayan with a few new Skills we may obtain in future expansions once we go to Sharlayan and would explain the possibility of Red Mage having their armor theme design to be like Sharlayans.

Though in the end it is how Red Mages are treated that would be in question in the Job Storyline rather than origins.

I sort of see her as that too; she's that mysterious character that gives us information on what's really going on, but we have to do errands for her in return.

Bringing her tomes? Maybe she is Rowena's sister, who live in Doma?

Primals are what the believers think they are. And believers give their gods the ideal perfect looking body.

The only explicit thing stated about Sharlayan being founded, is somewhere between the year 10 and 201, Likewise, around year 10, the survivors on Abalthia's Spine started to form small communities in Gyr Abania. Sharlayan forms their formal government several hundred years before Ala Mhigo does though.

So, Sharlayan is about as old as the practice of the Red Mages it would seem.

    (Lorebook timeline, page 47)

Edit: Further, the origin story of Sharlayan on page 169 mentions a particular Archon teleporting a wooden arc of survivors of the flood to Abalathia's Spine. Though, presumably, on the other far western end, whereas Gyr Abania is in the far eastern end of the mountain range.

Guess the hypothesis of Sharlayan founded by a separate group of survivors would hold more ground than the other hypothesis.

A calamity such as the Great Flood would normally create separate groups of survivors by escaping the Great Flood through separate means.

Yeah, given their similar, but opposite elements. (Both magical orders founded shortly after the Great Flood, but ending up on opposite sides of the continent,) I can imagine setting Red Mages up as a foil or rival to Sharlayan NPCs/Astrologians more than anything.

But Red Mage has the "High Ground" in the end in terms of philosophy by aiming to use their Magic to benefit others compared to the Sharlayan's Philosophy being only to benefit themselves.

Maybe but majority, if not all, female summons are always sexy in some way. However, if you want a ugly female Primal then Anima would do just fine
