Knowing so little until now, I was like, meh, but getting excited now
The lore/story seems much more interesting than what we have so far. The areas look amazing, I especially love the epic monument dudes, oriental style and that fog-filled woodland area... damn.
Class quests that help you learn the new skills better should be sweet.
I'm less excited about the raid/primals they've shown. Omega seems quite similar to Alex as a concept, right? And suzano looks a lot like Ravana, so less novelty perhaps.
I'm not really into the high tech/steampunk aspect of FF and would rather see a raid with themes consistent with what is new to the xpac like the eastern culture.
It seems really weird to me that the samurai and martial artist characters in the trailer are unmistakenly Anglo-Saxon looking. If we're all cool with going east, wouldn't we be cool to have some characters fit that aesthetic? As a white man I can say confidently that we look ridiculous in kimonos.
