Funny story; I got my dad playing FFXIV last year, and it was during the Moonfire Faire where you had to use the "Dance" actions or something on that big shark?
Well, he assumed it was using "/dance" the EMOTE, and so he was spamming it, not understanding what the FATE was supposed to be.
So the next day, he calls me FREAKING OUT, because when he tries to log-in, he's ported to some "GM jail" or something. By all accounts, it looked like he'd been banned from the game! Turns out, a GM had been trying to notify him that he'd been reported for spamming emotes, but since my dad clearly didn't see the message, the GM ported his character to this area so he could talk to him. But every time my dad logged in, he'd immediately log back out, before a GM had a chance to even whisper him!
Kind of a funny story, but one that also shows it can be a weird system with equally weird solutions sometimes.
