    The second retainer was not included with the original release. They allowed you to have 2 for free until an undisclosed time at around patch 1.14 go back and read it. It said temporary

    As before, and until the release of Version 2.0, players will be entitled to employ two Retainers at no charge.

    At this stage, you get two retainers for free. Any additional retainer costs a dollar.

    I don't see what the original release has to do with anything. It's 2011 now, not 2010.
