If it was cute or sexy enough I would, yeah. It would have to be quite unique from other races. The fact that playing completely zoomed out, as is practicle. If it had a very unique way of moving and emoting etc that would be a big draw. Like a demon class that walked on all fours upside down like the girl from the exorcist. Or maybe views could hop along like a rabbit!

For me too the issue isn't having to pay but that the viera concept art doesn't appeal. I see bunny humanoids as being either sexy, like a hyer with that bunny hat, big tits and ass and silly giggle, wriggly tail or cute like The Jyn dwarf race from blade n soul. The actual concept they created looks awful.

You do know that ff14 is an amalgam of various FF concepts? We can't play as the ascians but they are heavily based on ff12's Occuria.

Vieras are not my first choice for possible future race additions but far be it from me to say something from a FF game can't be in this one when there are shoutouts, bosses and npcs in this one.

XIV is alright at the moment, but as soon as you start suggesting making things like races paid, then you start removing core aspects of the game. I get your reasons for asking, but it is a dangerous line of thinking.

I've only suggested something with aesthetic value. I won't support anything beyond that. But paid aesthetic items are worth it to me. It ensures a level of exclusivity. Remember in 2.0 when we got our magitek reaper? Everyone had them. Cool mount. But so common it lost its appeal. One issue with half-elezen (the race I would buy), is it would likely be played more than elezen if it were free. Lets be honest, elezen aren't played much (this could be hurting viera too just so everyone knows). A race that looks like Hilda.. a popular character and good looking one at that, would be played probably nearly as much as Hyur.

That hurts the racial diversity in the game. However, putting it behind a price tag would allow them to get some reward for the effort without changing the entire racial dynamic. You wouldn't see as a large exodus from other races.

If no one is willing to pay for it, and well at least I'm willing to pay for a half-elezen race (within a reasonable price). Which one will look more enticing to develop? To put it shortly.. just how badly do you all want it? Or is the whole viera fad just a joke?

I've tried EQ2 and they have tons of wild and wacky races that nobody really plays so I always roll my eyes and think of that when people say "no I hate cute normal looking races I want to be a giant ugly monster" if they want a new race. It's mind boggling people want something that will be hardly ever used but they don't want popular race like Viera.

I think a lot of people that like Viera would put their money where their mouth is. Actually you could say that Au Ra is pay locked since you need the expansion to get it. Tho I doubt many ppl would pay just for Au Ra honestly, actually unsure if anyone would ever pay just for Roegadyns as a race lol.
