Funny, most MMO's forced extra characters down my throat to be able to experience the whole game, instead of having it as a vanity option at best. How's that for ass-backwards?

Oh, and the fact that market system =/= retainers, especially post 2.0. It's a name of a system that could be anything. Just like the Marketplace we will have after 1.20 is the exact same Marketplace we had in September last year, amirite?

since this game does not allow one character to experience each story line it means 1 character cannot do everything in game.
also, many people care a great deal for playing different races due to all of their visual aesthetics (animations, physical looks, some gear is displayed differently on different races)
therefore, i have no idea why it is necessary to charge per character.
if its to minimize RMT characters, why not make free characters a fixed amount? RMT characters will forever and ever exist in every MMO regardless of any steps taken.
3 free characters sounds more than fair to me.

I could justify $5 a month to cover GM services and server costs, but I can't bring myself to pay $10 a month for this for the next year.

I pray 1.20 changes my mind, but given the fact we still haven't had that 'miracle patch', I'm not holding my breath.

I think 9.99$ until 2.0 is reasonable price
For everyone that think why they ask for 3$ per new char, I think it because SE need to reserve database for that new char so that's the monthly cost of the service. but yeah, compare to other MMO, 3$ per month for new char is way too much.

Btw, the good side of this 3$ per new char is...the market ward will lot more space available

I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here... but man, the inability to purchase extra retainers is gonna hit me pretty hard... gears for all the class + mats for crafting + materia + food + sale inventory is not gonna fit in a scant 530 space
