So the people who enjoy the vanity part of games should pay out the rear for it?

I don't care about the moral standpoint, but the fact is that this is how it's done industry wide. Vanity content is not always free, and the prices aren't correctly proportionate to the effort it takes to develop and maintain them. A shiny pony in WoW costs 20 bucks, alternate costumes in SFIV cost 5 bucks per 2 characters.

And how does one choose wisely without exploring other options?

This is most exceptable for now. Not the 50% reduction I was hoping for; but 1/3 is ok. Also will appriciate the money I will save on FFXI for 3 months. Was not expecting that after the discount I received last year

3$ per character is just out of control. When most mmos alow as many characters as you want this is a big mistake. Times have changed and SE just cannot keep up. It is really sad.

No it's not sad because you can do everything with one character aside from grand companies, homestate, and the like. Seriously stop it and go somewhere's else.

No. It's 6,99 + the character fee of 3, to total of 9,99 minimum (unless you take the 3/6-month plan).

@3/4 of the price is mathematically and statistically the highest chances that SE will make the most money off of (like I showed in a thread a long time ago about about the various discount rates vs required subs to make a profit). I knew they had some decent brains in their HQ.

This is OUTSTANDING hah! People complained because SE started talking about billing at the end of the year. The masses called for a price reduction. Now people complain because they feel the reduction is TOO MUCH? ahaha
