For everyone that think why they ask for 3$ per new char, I think it because SE need to reserve database for that new char so that's the monthly cost of the service. but yeah, compare to other MMO, 3$ per month for new char is way too much.

Btw, the good side of this 3$ per new char is...the market ward will lot more space available

I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority here... but man, the inability to purchase extra retainers is gonna hit me pretty hard... gears for all the class + mats for crafting + materia + food + sale inventory is not gonna fit in a scant 530 space

What possible reason is there to have more than one character in FFXIV? Unless you want a mule...and that's what retainers are for.

In WoW, you can have 50 characters for $14.99 a month. On different servers, no less. Put each one on a different server, if you want. You are only limited to 10 per server, for a total of 50.

It would be nice to play with different friends on different servers.
