now that dragon war is over will we see the dragoon get little dragonling to be his partner in battle? this would be awesome, right now the dragoon is glass cannon when attack her or his foes she seem go down fast. She or he has become the spear butt of everyone jokes.

Bahamut wasnt a primal though - he was a dragon until he was killed long ago. The Bahamut we see is now a primal because he was summoned by his mate who ofc had her husband in mind - a primal can take any shape or form and which it takes depends on the imagine the worshippers have in mind. So the real Bahamut was a dragon, the primals is merely an image of that dragon.

Same story - not a dragon. Just looks like one - my personal theory here is that he turned out looking like a dragon because he was summoned using Nidhoggs (=a dragon!) eyes and that somehow influenced the shape. Ilsberd didnt seem to be... clear enough to give it an actual shape. But thats just my guess.

Still: Neither of them are living, breathing dragons. They're primals looking like dragons.

While yes, Bahamut is a primal now that primal is NOT a dragon but a primal created after the image of the dragon Bahamut. A primal can take any shape or form, depending on who summons him - and in Bahamuts case it was his wife, who wanted her husband (the dragon) back. Thats why this primal LOOKS like a dragon but isnt one.
