Capital City of the Empire

What do you think the Capital city of the Empire look like? Will it be large and vast? Or could it be built inside the workings of a volcano? To provide some stimuli for discussion and speculation (including the name of this city, since to my knowledge it has not been given or even talked about in the lore...unless I missed it) I provide to you a series of images that I can take no credit in.

Maybe the city will be dark yet vibrant, full of advanced technology beyond our primitive minds.

Maybe it will be on the water, and tower into the sky, a pyramid of glass.

Maybe it will be on barren land; where grass is but an artificial remnant of what used to be.

Maybe it will be within a confined space, a fortress of great magnitude.

Maybe it will be smog covered and filled with airships that are more common than a bird.

Maybe it will be bright and colorful, and full of wonders.

Maybe it will be dark and omnious, full of mysteries.

Regardless if we ever get access to this city, the question still remains: What do YOU think the city would look like? Discuss!

Pretty sure it was stated somewhere that page 24 of the above PDF is the concept art of the Garlean capitol.

Steampunk would be cool! And that picture reminds me of NYC (but in the very distant future lol) so +1

I do hope, someday, after all this nasty business of war has been resolved, we will be able to visit the Garlean Empire. Any of the images the OP posted would work nicely.

a sprawling metropolis is probably not it, as the ascension of the Garleans is a rather recent development in the lore, within the last 40-50 years IIRC.

While it may have been possible to construct such a city in that time frame, it wouldn't have made sense given the relatively small population of the Garleans then(and now still tbh), even they were breeding like rabbits :P
